I can't make a Gmail account that was in the left navigation reappear, although it is still listed in the "Account Settings" menu.

I'm using Thunderbird on a new machine and it was very easy to set up. I added one last Gmail account, which was there for about a week and then disappeared. It's still listed when I go to "Account Settings," and I can't see anything wrong with how it's set up, but it just won't come back on the left-hand navigation menu list. Can anyone help?

Is the mail for that account going to the "Local Folders" inbox? Is the account IMAP or POP? I assume POP in the first question.
