Hi,

I'm using nypl.org website. When I log into my account, the following error occurs.

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

My cookie settings is to always accept and include third party.

The same page works fine on other browsers.

Similar problem occurs as well when I click into the catalog -- no error but the page goes back to the original.

Any settings needs to be changed?

Thanks

Hi, separate security issue, please update your Flash 28.0 r0 Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.171 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Hi, I have no problem with the page, where are you being redirected to ?

Please : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 60.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Clean installation does not solve this problem

BTW, there is no firefox folder under ProgramData or Program Files(x86). Program Files is 180 MB.

The problem is a specific one. Is the solution always the generic one like clean installation?

Hi, no. It does tend to be more useful on Win 10 though and is less intrusive on your system and yourself and is quick and when works, even better. Also is a good way of cleaning up peoples folders that can date back to Netscape code.

The folders were listed as that is where files are installed and is to be checked. The uninstaller is much better than before and does tend to clean up after it self more.

We have no data about the Extensions you are using as was not sent as that was turned off. SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST''''is issue still there ?

Nor any info on your AV program which can be the issue also. There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate. Usually there is a error message.....

It's a clean installation, no extension, everything default. I tried safe mode as well it's the same.

AV is Symantec. Disabled it. Still same error

The Windows 10 is also a clean installation only 2 months old.

If the problem exists in Safe mode that means something is corrupted and you need to complete uninstall FF and delete the Mozilla folder and reinstall again to fix the Browser issue.

Hi, that means nothing as Win10 corrupts itself. You on version 1803 or still on 1709 ?

Please do this and for the heck of it to repair Win10 registry and Files. Note if files are needed it will download them. Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).

Type / Copy/Paste the following command and press Enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Reboot after in anything found.

Again, this is clean installation. I have done all the SFC and DISM checks on the system. The redirect issue is only on Firefox, while all other browsers work fine. I don't think it's a system wide issue.
