I am not interested in any of the new Windows operating systems because of the new Explorer ( not to be confused with Internet Explorer ). So I'm sticking with XP until I get a black screen when I start Firefox. I have these extensions: Form History Control, NoScript, Open Tabs Next to Current, Screengrab, Video DownloadHelper. The last time I checked the web sites I wasn't able to figure out if they run under the ESR release for XP. On the other hand i am having no problem with the current version I'm using, save for the nag screen. I don't want to update if these extensions will not work so I'm hoping someone who is sharper than I am has compiled a list or knows how to test the extensions. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks David

Many Extension authors are supporting Firefox 57.0 and later now and are not updating the legacy versions of their extensions anymore.

You will need to install Version 1.4.0.6 of form-history-control as newer versions requires Firefox 56.0 and newer. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/form-history-control/versions/1.4.0.6

Screengrab Version 0.96.3.1-signed.1-signed Released March 21, 2010 Works with Firefox 3.0 - 56.* https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/screengrab/versions/

You need Version 6.3.3 as Version 7.0.0 and later requires Fx 57.0 and later. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/versions/6.3.3

You need Version 5.1.8.3 as newer versions requires 57.0 and later. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/versions/5.1.8.3

Open Tabs Next to Current - The current version 2.0.11 works with Firefox 51.0 and later https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/open-tabs-next-to-current/versions/

Firefox 52.9.0esr out on June 26 will be the last major update for Firefox 52 ESR that will still run on the EOL WinXP/Vista.

You will need Windows 7 or later or a more current Linux distro to use current and future Firefox Releases.

Hi, the new browser in Win 10 is called Edge, IE is till there for now. I so not use them. The current version of ESR is 52.7.2

For Firefox version 59.0.2 Form History Control there is a Extension for it. NoScript there is a Extension for it. Open Tabs Next to Current there is a Extension for it. Screengrab (screenshot built into FF) and a there is a Extension for it. Video DownloadHelper there is a Extension for it. Just stick the name in and search https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/

When you go to Extension Pages they should say what they are compatible with. We do not have that information. Mozilla only ok's Extensions submitted by Developers to be used with Firefox. They ok them only and give the Developer a web page to distribute their Extension from. This in no means that Firefox Support does the Developers Support when their page has a Support link and a contact Link. But will try to help you regardless.

I think you need to be making plans now as June is the last : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/end-support-windows-xp-and-vista

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

On the left side of each add-ons page, if you scroll down, there is a Versions link. This allows you to make sure there is a Firefox 52-compatible version if the latest version is only for Firefox 54 or later.

Sorry for the delay. I want to thank everyone for all your help. I'm assuming that 52ERS and 52 are the same for the purpose of extensions. The last time I went looking for a list of compatible versions, I didn't find the version history page I see now. It left me guessing which one I needed. Now it is as it should be. I may have been in the wrong place back then. Explorer by the way is the bad rename of File Manager and I haven't liked it since Win 98. A case of fixing something that wasn't broken. Microsoft could take a lesson from Firefox ( Mozilla ) and release extensions. If you want the new garbage, download it. In the meantime stop changing the interface.
