Protocol-handler settings not working

(This is the full post from Nexus forums as I posted before finding out that Firefox appears to be the problem, Another custom protocol handler is not working and it was installed by the software. This exact same software worked pre-57 versions of firefox without any problems.)

Ok, Have NMM 0.63.14 installed. Ever since the redesign of the Nexus website firefox is giving me the "The address wasn’t understood Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (nxm) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context. You might need to install other software to open this address." error.

I have checked the registry and nxm is there as a protocol. Firefox has the nxm protocol-handler set (both) expose being set to false and external set to true. (I will include copies of the exact settings at the end of this post.)

I have uninstalled NMM and restarted the computer then re-installed NMM and this has been no help. I have gone into NMM (As admin) and unchecked the associate with files and checked the associate with files, both with not restarting NMM and with restarting NMM between setting changes. I have double and triple checked the settings in reg and FF for possible misspelling or punctuation issues and all seems correct. I have also tried staying on the old site (Before the redirect) and again, no fix for the problem.

I know I can still do a manual download and use the install from a file in NMM but It bothers me as a pc tech that it worked fine just a few days before and that no changes had been made to my machine. I know the registry portion is working because the links work in Internet Explorer. I have checked with Mozilla and there doesn't seem to be a problem from their end (at least no one has reported anything with other custom protocols.)

Here are the settings as they appear on my machine:

Firefox: network.protocol-handler.expose.nxm;false network.protocol-handler.external.nxm;true

Windows 7 64bit Registry: (registry export) Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\nxm] @="URL:nxm Protocol" "URL Protocol"=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\nxm\DefaultIcon] @="\"C:\\Program Files\\Nexus Mod manager\\NexusClient.exe\""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\nxm\shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\nxm\shell\open]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\nxm\shell\open\command] @="\"C:\\Program Files\\Nexus Mod manager\\NexusClient.exe\" \"%1\""

If anyone has any idea I am open to suggestions, and if more information is needed just let me know and I will get it as quickly as I can.

And Thanks in advance.
