Is there any way to not send automatically?
I'm trying to migrate away from Outlook but want to retain some functionality that I find useful. One of those is the option to turn off “Send immediately when connected”. This is valuable to me as I occasionally hit “send” only to realize I made a mistake. Having the e-mail sit in the Outbox gives me an opportunity to recover and make a change. I then do a manual "Send and Receive". I do not see this capability is Thunderbird. Does it exist, and if so, where?

Thunderbird has a Send Later function. There is an add-on called Send Later that gives more options like scheduling.
Thanks for the reply, Airmail.
That's not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for more of a delay/pause, not a scheduler.
