Why does default browser question continue to appear even though I have checked it to stop
Even though I have checked it to stop appear every time I open the browser the message would I like to make firefox my default browser still appears. I have the latest firefox (Version 56.0.1 64 bit) and am using Windows10

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar. Is Firefox listed as the default?
Assuming your answer to the above question is "Yes", would you try this :
Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (Promise to be careful, if asked) Type in the search bar and look for the preference :
browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser
And set its value to false
Then close and restart Firefox.
