How can I sync my address books between 2 PCs on the same network here at home?

I guess I should add the phrase, "without using gContactSync. They don't have to sync if the laptop is on a vacation with me, just here in the home office.

I am doing this via Dropbox and the Address Book Synchronizer addon.
