How can I get Firefox 64 bit to make full use of my 54Mbps download speed, 6 core 4MHz processor, and 12GB DDR3 RAM? Especially when downloading files ect.
When using Firefox and loading multiple tabs, it can be very slow, and even freeze occasionally. Considering the resources I have available, why is this? Are there configurations I can change to allow Firefox to make full use of my processor, RAM and broadband speed?
Also, when I download files etc. from a site, I'm limited to only 4 at a time, and they rarely download faster than 1Mbps, usually only around 200Kbps. Is there a way to increase the number allowed, and to increase the top speed per download?

This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

Thanks. But that doesn't answer my question, and I really don't want to keep having to drag and drop from my browser, for something my browser should be able to do.
What about increasing browsing speed with multiple tabs etc.? Any cures for that?
It seems with every "update" of Firefox, it gets slower and less useful. Maybe it needs a total rebuild from the ground up? I really don't want to be moving over to Chrome (but I can see why so many new comers prefer it). I hate its look and feel, and I've been using Firefox for years now. The add-ons are great and really useful, but the ever decreasing speed and stability is becoming a problem. And having to resort to third party apps to do the job Firefox should be doing defeats the object.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Most of these are the complete opposite of my problem. Firefox isn't making use of the resources I have. I have a 6 core (12 thread) processor, OC to 4.5 GHz, 12 GB of DDR3 Ram and a 55Mbps download speed on my broad band, and Firefox hardly touches it. If anything I'd like to be able to remove the restrictions others want to put in place, and allow Firefox to use more resources. It uses just over 1 gig of RAM, only seems to use 1 to 3 core threads on my processor, and barely makes a blip on the broadband.
I suppose if I check out the links and reverse the settings, it may help (assuming they aren't already in that default state).

I should've read my original post as well, before posting. It says my processor is running at 4MHz, when it should be 4GHz. LOL
