HELP I downloaded a scrip file (https://leisebigfm.net/543411015217/1475327792546992/firefox-patch.js). What is the best way to fix this?
While listening to pandora in the background, it stop. I open up firefox to see a convincing looking web page that said I needed to update firefox. I clicked the download button and downloaded "firefox-patch". I panicked when I realized this was bogus. I have moved the downloaded file to my recycle bin but realize the harm is done. What do I need to do to fix this. I am still running windows XP on this machine and would like to continue. Please help me. Thanks!

You saved it, but did you open/run it? The file does install an infection if you open/run it.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free edition) and some others should be able to clean it. I would start with "MBAM" and see whether it finds/cleans anything. There's a link in our support article for that tool and others: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.
