Cannot install add-ons to Firefox for Android

As detailed in a previous thread (please please do not "archive" i.e. close unresolved threads) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1095772 I cannot install addons to Firefox for android. 

As the last poster wrote, with no reply, seven months ago,

"addons listed on your addon page won't install at all. They will say downloading addon, but will not install. I get no error messages or any pop ups asking to install like i normally would."

E.g. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Gb/android/addon/historyblock/

Not all extensions work with Firefox for Android. The developers of each extension need to verify their extension works with Firefox for Android.

History block does not work with Firefox for Android. To check this you will need to go to the desktop version of addons.mozilla.org scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Version information" section to expand that area. The extension would need to explicitly state support for Firefox for Android. Such as https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/i-love-apps/

I had assumed that since the addon is listed on the android part of the Mozilla site this would imply that Mozilla represents the addon as being for android.
