I don't understand anything in that article. Is there a less confusing plain english step by step guied or something to download?

If you skip to the Bypassing the warning section of the article, it will give you step-by-step instructions on how to add an exception for the website.

Let us know if you need further explanation.

I don't have an option to bypass the warning or accept the risks. The only option is get me out of here.

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.google.ca, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

www.google.ca uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because it was signed using a signature algorithm that was disabled because that algorithm is not secure.

(Error code: sec_error_cert_signature_algorithm_disabled)

more options

Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website.

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate viewer

You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate. Please attach a screenshot that shows the certificate viewer window. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

I just updated Firefox and now I get this message when I try to use google. This has happened before. See the part about "it is not possible to add an exception"? This has happened before. You need to fix this. "The owner of www.google.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate."
