Feedback - Backup of Thunderbird
I know this has been asked many times. There are numerous requests and articles on backing up of Thunderbird. Why has the developer group shied away from providing a simple backup function so it is easy to transfer program settings and emails from one system to another or recover Thunderbird should your system fail. A simple export and import function would be great. I know this may not be the right spot for this question but try to find a feed back section for Thunderbird. For this one issue... I am faced with dropping Thunderbird and going to one the commercial programs such as Windows ( the horror of it). Is it about time !!! So if any one has a simple and easy way of backing up Thunderbird... I am all ears

There is no need to export or import anything. Backing up your data is as simple as copying the profile folder to a safe place.

I have seen mozbackup and have not tried it because of trust... not sure of who wrote it and what it contains besides a backup. I can save my profile but what about messages.... and is ti clean process to just reinstall the directory. That is why it should be part of Thunderbird.
That is part of how open source works.
Mozbackup is the foremost of all possible choices, well respected, and well supported.
