Crash ID: bp-2c8def17-09be-4eea-8dc8-73dc62150924

Firefox is crashing upon opening. I also tried to open it in safe mode, same result. It won't open at all. Mozilla Crash Reporter pops right up saying "We're Sorry..." I've downloaded a fresh copy, and tried installing it over the original (not terribly out of date, maybe v. 39 or so? on Windows 7) but still crashes and doesn't open.

Sorry to hear about the crashes, and thank you for the crash report ID.

The crash "signature" in your report has been linked to a problem involving Applian Technologies' Freecorder program in combination with popular security software (e.g., Norton, which you seem to be running).

If you have the Freecorder program and it isn't essential, try uninstalling it and then restarting Windows to ensure that none of its components are left running.

Will Firefox start normally after that?
