I installed the Office Document Reader from Marketplace; then emailed myself a small MSWord file as an attachment; I opened the email on my phone and it showed the attachment; problem: how to download the MSWord file (or any other attachment, for that matter) onto my micro-SD card? When I receive an attached image I can view it and it downloads to my card. How to do this with Word files or non-image files? Thanks.

Hello, which version do you have on your phone? Downloading attachments in general (not just some specifc types) is not available in older versions (e.g. 1.3). I believe you need at least version 2.2.

Thanks WerWer, I guess that's the problem, I have v. 1.3 on my phone. How do I get v. 2.2? I thought my phone was supposed to update itself automatically? I get these notifications periodically informing me that Firefox has updated. So I guess it's not updating the o/s. Can I do the update myself? thanks again for your fast response.

Normally (i. e. for non-developer phones), updates of your phone's system software are provided by the phone's manufacturer. So whether or not your phone get them depends on the vendor's policy.

Depending on the phone you have, you may be able to update it yourself. You can find some information here - mostly for developers' phones: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Phone_guide Warning: This would be, of course, totally at your own risk and you might end up with a broken device... So the first step would be to find out, what you vendor's strategy is regarding updates.

Hi and thanks again for the info. I'll take your warning as a suggestion and leave things the way they are. My phone is terrific and everything else works just fine. Thanks again for your help. PL
