check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

What are the default color settings?

You can check the Net log and the Network log in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) to see if content fails to load or possibly is blocked (file size is zero).

Use Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that has effect.

Hello,

I have exact same problem. I've been fighting with quite some time. What I found out is that disabling hardware acceleration helps. But then, youtube video etc are playing slow since there is no hardware acceleration. So it's not really a solution.

What I found out so far. This is mostly fault of crappy AMD drivers, I have Radeon R9 290. I've tried different drivers, (some old drivers that are not even supported in W10 like 14.11 worked for an hour, then the same problem happened).

What's more, sometimes when the black screen occurs, the AMD driver display stops working and then reinitiates. There was also an additional error that shows sometimes when quitting firefox with black screen. It's a Visual C++ Runtime Error R6025 - pure virtual function call.

So a connection with AMD graphic card is obvious. What I understand is that AMD makes a real crap drivers, but then Firefox is faulty too since its unable to cooperate with them. The problem does not occur in other web browsers.

As for temporary solution, it would be best to disable hardware acceleration ONLY for facebook.com . Is that possible? Or is it for all or for nothing?
