I’m clicking on emails to open and they are disappearing. Anyone else having this challenge? I’m on a new computer Windows 8.1. I have tried to search for them thinking maybe they got moved somewhere by mistake but no they just aren’t there anymore.

Still nothing there. The emails are gone as far as I can tell. Thanks for the idea though.
Following on from christ1's suggestion, do you have the QuickFilter set to show only unread messages?
However, your inability to find them by searching does suggest they have actually been removed. :-(
no I have it set to show all emails. The emails are just disappearing when I click on them. I might think I was going a little dingy but they show up on my phone so I know they existed. I forwarded one from the phone back to the email account but the others were already deleted from the server. I can read them on my phone but can't send it anywhere. Thanks for trying!
IMAP or POP mail account? Mail provider? Anti virus software used? Any other security software like password vaults?
The answers to the ? above. Pop mail account. Go daddy. McAfee No other security right now. It's a new computer and I have only been on it a couple of weeks.
I see you are using McAffee. That antivirus program can mess things up. Read this article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Antivirus_software You can not let your antivirus repair your folders. Most certainly that will corrupt them It should not test your folders when you open them as that could take forever.

I too am having this problem but nothing here so far seems effective.
