Hello,

Been using Firefox for years and refuse to switch to Chrome, but it gets kinda frustrating atm and im leaning towards Chrome lol...

If my firefox version is open longer then 24 hours, and there is a flash item in it, it will eat resources till my computer almost dies. Its open for +24 hours now. And Firefox.exe eats 1,2GB memory and 11% cpu

Firefox is open 2x with 20 tabs? I dont really care about the memory or cpu usage, but i do care about the. For instance, if its open longer then a few hours and i watched some flash stuff, i open a small youtube clip on the left, and scroll on facebook on the right screen the small clip is all stuttering etc.. and if that gets as bad, Scripts will be stopped by firefox, Flash does exactly the same.

So if i let my pc run if i go to work and come back with 10 tabs open, the browser is just laggy and not ok to work with. Tho better hardware does "solve" it, but thats a 8 hours ++ kinda.

My personal pc at home: i3 4310 with 8GB memory and a SSD. Win7 At work: i5 2500k 8GB and a SSD. Win7

Im kinda "home" to computers, as i work daily with them / solve problems with them bla bla..

It just seems to get more regulair with the trouble with Flash and Firefox. Tho i love firefox.. :( This is a problem getting bigger every quarter of a year for the last 3 years.

If i close firefox and restart its okay again for a few hours.. and then its crashing scripts and flash again, Im not putting this on Firefox, but i wanna know where this is going wrong. Ive got the same problem everywhere, i tried full resets defaults. I scanned my PC for spyware with MBAM, Combofix, SuperAntiSpyware.. And i even reinstalled my complete Windows installation at work a few weeks ago because of it.

Hope this is enough information..

Thank u.

Is there a reason you need to run flash while you are away?

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
