I have tried to set up a table in Thunderbird but the column width is much too big.

How can I reduce the column width, please?

Thunderbird still syncs Gmail contacts even though I have no Gmail account in TB. I imported a Vcard into TB and deleted a couple contacts. Went back into Gmail contacts and had to restore them.

I've been having a number of problems with Thunderbird recently and I'm hoping that deleting and reinstalling the app might help. But I worry that I will lose emails by doing this. I'm also wondering if the numerous folders I've set up will disappear as well. The issues I've been having, by the way, are emails consistently going into the wrong folder and, most recently, constantly being asked for my passwords. (I have emails from four email addresses being downloaded by Thunderbird.) I've had the password issue in years past, but it always seemed to resolve itself.

Moved all my email to brand new PC, all working except alicegimbird@hotmail.co.uk , it just keeps coming up " The current operation on Inbox did not succeed. The mail server for alicegimbird@hotmail.co.uk responded Command Error.12.

Hello I want to use my calendar and adressbook from different PCs which have access to a common network device like P: So I intend to locate and use Thunderbird calendar and adressbook on dedicated device P:. Is there a way to achieve that? Thanks lot Thomas

I am writing this message in regards to Thunderbird's GPG support after v68, in the last hope that someone suggests a solution that moves me away from version 68. I consider the current state broken.

My PGP keys reside on a Yubikey, but smartcard usage has been broken after v68, as none of the supposedly correct setups work. It should work pretty much out of the box, but it doesn't. The whole idea of moving away from Enigmail without having a properly, fully implemented support, including for smartcards, or at least for working with GPG, was utterly misguided, IMO, and broke the once nice client.

I enabled gpg usage and fetching in Settings, I imported my pubkeys to Thunderbird's PGP manager, then added my external key (with GPG). Everything looks fine. But when I click an encrypted message, I get "The secret key that is required to decrypt this message is not avaliable". Nah, it's available and it's there! The pinentry isn't appearing at all and this is the result. I believe this is TB's fault, as the pinentry correctly appears with everything else I do, also with TB 68 + Enigmail. The setup is the same. I am using the latest Gpg4win.

Settings:

mail.openpgp.allow_external_gnupg - true mail.openpgp.fetch_pubkeys_from_gnupg - true mail.openpgp.alternative_gpg_path - has no effect whether set or not

gpg-agent.conf:

enable-win32-openssh-support default-cache-ttl-ssh 900 max-cache-ttl-ssh 1800 no-allow-external-cache default-cache-ttl 300 max-cache-ttl 3000 ignore-cache-for-signing allow-loopback-pinentry

gpg.conf:

utf8-strings auto-key-locate local use-agent

FYI, adding "pinentry-program" has no effect on solving the problem, whether set or not.

Hello, I was attempting to send a message to 44 recipients and got the attached error message. I then created a mailing list and attempted sending both as To: and a CC:, and got the same error. My understanding from searching the issue is that Thunderbird has a maximum of 60 recipients allowed, and my provider, northmail.ca, has a maximum of 250 recipients allowed. I cannot figure out what the problem is, or what I am missing. Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm using Thunderbird 149.02 to make a local copy of all folders, messages and attachments on my yahoo mail account. I don't yet see an obvious way to issue a command to Thunderbird to accomplish this.

I'm using export.imap.mail.yahoo.com as the IMAP server as some of the folders have >10000 messages (none have >100000 messages, and there is no significant real-time email arriving to the account while I do this procedure.)

In settings/offline settings I have "automatically follow detected online state" and "download messages for offline use when going offline [yes].

In account settings/synchronization & storage I have Disk space: Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age"; "to recover disk space, old messages can be permanently deleted..." I have "Don't delete any messages" and "Always keep starred messages"

With these settings, I've tried (from the main menu) File -> Offline > Download/Sync now, then "Download and/or sync..." I have selected Mail Messages, and the Select button takes me to a table where I have selected the main account folder and all sub-folders.

With these settings, Thunderbird appears to go through some of the folders and downloads messages from, them, and after a while says there are no new messages (I don't have the specific text, but it ceases interacting with the server". If I repeat the Download/Sync now procedure, it appears to download more messages, will continue for a while, then stop in the same way.

When I compare the size of Thunderbird's local account folder, it appears to grow after each of these iterations, but is (after half dozen cycles through this) has only reached about 2/3 of the total stoage size reported by Yahoo. While I understand the storage mechanisms would differ significantly between yahoo and Thunderbird, I don't believe I've found a single sure-fire way to accomplish what I set out to do in the first place (which is get a complete copy, through IMAP, of all emails, folders and attachments.

What am I missing?

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.

I'm a retired Desktop Support tech more familiar with Outlook, still very new to Thunderbird. I enjoy supporting family & friends and often email urls for various reasons. What setting do I need to tweak in Thunderbird to get long urls that I paste into emails to send to wrap within the composed email?

I downloaded Thunderbird to my new machine, followed instructions to copy the Profile Folder from the old machine and pasted to the new machine. I didn't get a message asking whether I wanted to replace the data on the new machine. When I started Thunderbird, I am not seeing all the data I expected - no address book, only 200+ emails, no sent emails. What did I do wrong?

Hi there. I'm looking for a shortcut that takes me from the folderlist pane to the message pane and the first new message, when I'm on the inbox folder. The tab is not good. It moves between to many fields/options.

Hi, What is the "@?" for Thunderbird? For gmail it's @gmail.com for hotmail it's "@hotmail.com. Eventually I want to rid myself of gmail. Thanks

I noticed that when replying to messages that have a reply-to header, my own message is not included in the thread with the first message. There is, however, a small "reply" icon next to the email in the list. Is there a setting I need to toggle, or should I report a bug?

I have Earthlink for my email. Thunderbird has been working for years by displaying my emails from Earthlink. Today, I have not received any new emails even though I see them on my Earthlink account.

I am running Linux Mint and Thunderbird 140.9.0esr (64-bit). When I try to setup my Comcast email account I get errors and the program basically stops. For example "can't access property "cleanup", this [#configVerifier] is undefined". When I allow Thunderbird to do the initial search and follow its recommendation I get this error: Error creating account Incoming server already exists

I have Tbird running on two other computers THAT HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF. I noted that if I tried setting up Tbird on my newest Mint installation, i.e., Tbird running on my Windows machine, it would also fail to make the account.

I am at a loss as to what is going on. Any ideas???

A "send later" button came up one morning instead of the usual "send" button. When I clicked on the write button to see where the "send" button was, several choices came up but when I clicked on the "write" choice I lost the other choices and now can't get back to the original write button and still no "send" button appears anywhere on the menu. I can save messages to Draft but still can't actually send them. I can still receive emails, just can't send them! Help!
