Before the new profiles update in Firefox I was using the old version of creating profiles and I want to move that profile into the new profile method. Is that possible?

I have an account for standard support release versions, I am now using extended support release version 140.7.0 and a popup notification keeps nagging me to make a new profile. How do I do this?

My power just went out for a second, now Firefox its acting like I've never used it.

I've never had this problem. Firefox has worked just fine for years. I have never had an issue with FireFox. Now I'm being told to select a profile like there isn't a set of folders with files dating back to 2021 sitting next to these fresh new folders full of files all dated to today.—I don't know shit by the way, Google told me where the profile stuff is or something idk im pissed.

How do I get Firefox to recognize the same old mountain of files its been using to store bookmarks, passwords, and all the rest is right under its stupid nose? And no the about:profiles page just gives me another blank profile to choose.

I am enjoying the easier profile management with the new profile system, and I am using it currently for splitting personal / work usage. I was just wondering if it is possible to set 'Choose a profile when Firefox opens' to always apply when running a Firefox shortcut, not just when Firefox is not currently running (similar to Chrome's 'New Window' option)?

I got a message on my Win10 PC saying, "Your Firefox profile can not be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

Mozilla help suggests looking in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. I did this but don't know what to do next.

I have another Win10 PC where Mozilla still works, and they do sync. Should I copy some of the Mozilla folders from it to the first PC to restore the problem? Which ones?

BTW, I can still run the Mozilla TOR Browser on the first PC. Thank you!

If I'm not mistaken, between FF146 and FF147 it appears the location of the profile directory has changed. It was:

   /home/<user>/.mozilla/firefox  

and now is

   /home/<user>/.config/mozilla/firefox

Is that correct?

As the title says, when i go to about:support, and click the open profile folder, i wanted to install a customization to allow me to edit the default tab background, but for some reason i do not have admin privileges in that folder, i can't access anything, i can't edit anything nor create a new folder, even rename it. It says that my own computer does not have admin privileges inside that folder.

today I tried using a link from discord to go to a site. a window I was unfamiliar with stating it was firefox told me to pick a profile. I had 2 at that point but I saw none at that point. I ignored it and did nothing. I restarted my computer later on after a file browser issue and when I tried to find my profiles and my last session I found nothing. my entire fire fox account has been wiped and I only have a single profile in my app data thats onlder than 2026. I have no idea whats happened.

Hi, I am having a problem with the recently introduced Firefox profile system. In the Windows taskbar, different profiles stay grouped under the same icon. The only workaround I found is going into taskbar settings and setting it to 'Never combine,' but that causes every program to show text labels, which looks ugly. I also tried modifying taskbar.grouping.use_profile in about:config, but it didn't solve anything

I’m running into a limitation with Firefox profiles involving the original Profile Manager (about:profiles) and the new Profiles menu in the toolbar.

I previously created multiple profiles using the original Profile Manager (about:profiles), for example profiles A, B, and C. These profiles still function normally and can be launched through about:profiles, but they do not appear in the new Profiles menu in the toolbar.

I also tried using the “Copy this profile” option available from the new Profiles menu. This made it clear that the feature does not work with profiles created via about:profiles. For example, when I open profile A, I expected that I could use “Copy this profile” to copy profile A into an existing profile like profile B (which was also created using about:profiles). However, this is not possible. Profiles A, B, and C remain isolated from the new Profiles menu and cannot be accessed, copied, or managed through it.

At the moment, profiles created with the original Profile Manager (about:profiles) can only be accessed through that manager and cannot be transferred into the new Profiles menu in the toolbar.

Is there an official fix or a workaround that achieves the same result—specifically, transferring or integrating all existing profiles created with the original Profile Manager (about:profiles) into the new Profiles menu accessible from the Firefox toolbar?

I keep receiving the following pop-up. How do I get rid of it?

Pop up: This profile was last used with a newer version of this application. Please create a new profile

Just lately, Firefox has been going on about Profiles, I don't know why. I have no need for such things, yet in my Windows menu, everything says "– Original profile" at the end. All this does is make things difficult to see. How can I get rid of it, please?

I want to restore a previous profile which I can see on File Explorer, but no previous profiles appear on the About Profiles page. How can I access this previous profile?

Before i got the Profiles update that rolled out relatively recently, i created another firefox profile from the "about:profiles" page. I do not see this second profile in the new Profiles tab in the menu in my default profile. Is there a way to transfer the profile, maybe mess with the files and the folder of firefox, so i will be able to switch profiles from the Profiles tab, and not go through "about:profiles" every time? or just create a new profile and tell me how to transfer the data, where to find the existing one thanks.

Last time I got a reply, it was telling me f.f had a 'known issue' sore. the "yo've reached your limit for this account profile..create another on!" I made one, but it was then as now inte f.frfering further (white flower icon, having two operating f.f P or more operating at same time-stp[[omg my mac from sleeping, interfereing other ways. WHAT I AM ASKINNG IS HOW TO DELETE THE 2ND AND OTHER PROFILES! I GO TO MANAGE PROFLES T, AND I SEE THE FLOWER ICONS IN LARGE OPEN FLOER ICON/DRAWINGS WITH 'DELETE' AND A TRASH/BIN ICON BELOW EACH. WHEN I TRY EITHER ONE OF THE OTHER PROFILES, IT JUST OPENS THE MAIN FF. PAGE WITH A BLANK SCREEN, NO BOOKMARKS/TOOLBAR...AND DIALOG BOX TO IMPORT P/W'S HOW DO I DELETE ANY PROFILE IF THIS SECLECTED METHOD IS FAILED? WORSE, UNDER THE PROFILE I TYPE HERE WITH, IT HAS BOTH ITS NAME, AND THAT DAMN FLOWER ICON BELOW IT WITH "ORIGINAL PROFILE". DOES THAT MEAN IT THINKS MY IDENTITY IS BORROWED FROM SOM OTHER IDENTITY? IS THAT WHY I CAN'T GET RID OF THE ANCILARY ONES? THE MOZ. ENGINEER WROTE ME BACK TO SAY THE 'CREATE NEW PROFILE' WAS B/C OF A GLITCH ON THEIR END...IS IT RESOLVED? I wrote about 15 mins ago. Just wanted to add that when I go to profiles and try to delete others, clicking delete takes me to a firef. standard home page (sans bookmarks) and nothing about the 3 flowers/finalizing the deletion!?

I am also concerned about this flower icon, on my mac dock...can't tell if that flower is an abnormality that it thinks my "orignal profile" is not the profile of main use. This isn't just aesthetics: it seems to be telling me if I delete the other profiles, it won't stop that freakin flower icon from KEEPING MY COMPUTER/F.FOX FROM SHUTTIGI DOWN?

All I know is, everytime I go back to manage profiles and open ancillary ones (e.g test 2, Mac 15 Air, etc) I end up with more firefox icons on the right side of my dock!

At startup, Firefox starts with an account setup screen. I have been using current setup for 3 years. Tried troubleshoot mode to no avail. Had same problem 3 years ago.

this morning when i turned on my pc and went on firefox i had to sign in the account, and when i did that all my bookmarks had a strange immage ,like the immage i uploaded below, and my settings where wrong,now when go on youtube or any other web site i can't see my bookmarks, i tryed looking in the settings but i didn't find how to fix my problem.
