Hi Mozilla Can you improve firefox 115 in next update because this browser is slow and need to improvements in performance, i'm using windows 8.1 and i'm can't upgrade to windows 10

Hi,

I’ve recently noticed that after a Firefox update, the browser has become very slow and unresponsive whenever I open multiple tabs, around 5–10. Before this update, I could open many tabs without any noticeable lag.

Now, new tabs take a long time to load, scrolling within open tabs feels choppy, and sometimes Firefox freezes for a few seconds before responding again.

I’ve already tried restarting Firefox, disabling extensions one by one, and clearing the cache, but none of these steps have improved the performance. I’m using Windows 10 and the latest version of Firefox.

Could anyone suggest what settings or troubleshooting steps I can try to fix this slowdown?

An aggressive website can cause "isolated web co" processes to be started. When they hog all processors and memory, the computer besomes unresponsive. Keyboard and mouse freezes up.

Is there a way to limit firefox processes to n-1 processors, leaving 1 processor available for me to kill it ?

I love Firefox and have used it forever. But its memory usage is killing me lately and I'm seriously reconsidering.... PC, Win11, Intel7, 16GB memory. (I'm typing this from Chrome)

I've updated, restarted, but it keeps maxing out and slowing my computer to a crawl. Somebody please tell me there's a fix pending?

Not sure if this is a Firefox or YouTube bug.. it's really annoying and happens quite a few times each day I use my PC.. Is there any solution to this or perhaps reverting the update til this is resolved? I usually wait fo rit to stop lagging or if I'm not patient enough.. I'll just close Firefox entirely and re-open. Thanks.

For the last couple of days, the Firefox instance goes black and the title bar turns to an old windows look (see picture). Or turns fully blue, the color of browser theme, and the title bar is covered as well. There is no certain page that makes this bug appear, it appears randomly regardless of the page I'm visiting. Often it happens on the Firefox instance that is on the monitor I'm not working on at that moment. For example, I am browsing on my main monitor, and the 2nd monitor has a page open, the page in the 2nd monitor becomes bugged. It happens the other way too. Current Firefox version is 149.0 64 bit version, but i think it happened before the update too. I have already tried to turn hardware acceleration on and off again.

When playing YouTube videos in Firefox, the video constantly hangs or freezes. I have to restart the browser to continue playback. This happens every time I try to watch videos on youtube. what is going on?

Why I am receiving regular message from web page "https://fno.5paisa.com/open-interest/oi-dashboard?name=HINDALCO&exch=N&exchtype=D" that this page is slowing firefox, stop it ?

I have a problem: when I open any Instagram reels link like from google , facebook , forum , etc https://www.instagram.com/reels/****/ the browser freezes. After a bit, a “stop” message shows up. When I click it, it opens a blank page like the one in the screenshots, and the tab completely freezes — I can’t go back, forward, or even close it. Even if I close the browser, it keeps running in the background. There are no extensions enabled (I’m using troubleshoot mode). windows 10 64

I started noticing my browser was running rough, and I tracked it down to Youtube, but only when I have a video in fullscreen. It doesn't appear to be affected by the codec, av0/avc/vp09 all suffer from it.

Incognito mode (no extensions) is still affected by it, but a separate profile + troubleshoot mode are not. My RTX 5080 is showing about 2% usage when playing a video, 0% at idle.

How do I nail down what's causing this?

Version 148 is very slow. When there are 5-10 downloads, other websites won't open. That's why I use version 140. And why are there so many files in the folder - ....profile\storage\permanent\chrome

When I launch Firefox, it uses well under 1GB in memory, but then it starts to increase that amount quickly in just a few minutes and gets up to 50+GB, causing error messages to pop up repeatedly until it uses all resources and locks up my computer. I have updated my MAC OS and the Firefox app, uninstalled the Firefox App and still have the same problem.

Sporadically over the past year, a virus warning, purportedly from Apple, has locked my FireFox screen. I must Force Quit to unlock FoxFire. See images. Is this a scam?
