Hello, I am suffering from an odd issue when using twitch.tv. In short, when viewing peoples streams, my video feed will usually turn into colorful static (aka "clown vomit"). I suspect that the issue is coming from Firefox, but I can't be certain. I am using a newly-bought laptop and the issue could be caused by a large number of things, theoretically. Here is what I know:

  • When viewing on twitch.tv with quality 360p or higher, the video feed will usually (95%) become colorful static within 1 minute or less. When this happens, the video feed does not ever recover until page is refreshed or quality is changed. (I know a bit about video encoding, so this seems extremely odd to me, if it were due to a networking thing that lost some packets, a full-image frame should come alone sooner or later and fix things, but that never seems to happen)
  • The video feed is far less likely to become corrupted when viewing at 160p, but can still happen.
  • The ads may become corrupted in the same way that the main video feed can.
  • When the feed is corrupted, the rest of the Twitch interface (pause/play, volume, quality select) is extremely laggy.
  • When the feed is corrupted, if I pause the stream, sometimes the paused corrupted image is not completely stationary! There will be flickering in small portions of the image, looking similar to texture fighting in 3d rendering, flickering between two equally-but-differently corrupted versions of the image
  • The issue never appears when using Chrome to watch twitch.tv. This is what makes me think Firefox is the culprit, not Twitch or networking or graphics drivers.
  • Disabling my browser addons does not help.
  • Private browsing window does not help.
  • Clearing my browser cache does not help.
  • I have had the issue happen on Youtube exactly once in 2 weeks, not sure if that's related or not, I think it was a normal "lost some network traffic but fixed itself the next time a full frame was received" thing.
  • Video live streams on Youtube don't get corrupted the way they do on Twitch.

Can someone please give me advice for how to fix this? Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is there a way for me to get deeper under the hood of either Twitch or Firefox and more closely debug the video stream when it fails?

There is a bug in Firefox Browser where it doesn't allow you to scroll up in the chat during the livestream and keep your place there to read a message. It auto scrolls down to the new messages everytime a new message appears in the chat.

Firefox is the ONLY browser that does this so it must be a bug. Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, etc none of these do this. It is especially problematic in livestreams with many viewers and an active chat, making it impossible to read a previous message if you want.

It happens on all platforms, twitch, kick, YouTube, Parti, Rumble, anything with a live chat

Hi, I have recently found some features of GMail are not working in Firefox. File attachments fail to attach, the spellchecker , though selected in settings, won't check spelling to name but two. I have disable the ad blocker but no change. The same GMail account works fine in MS Edge. I would welcome suggestions to resolve these issues as I much prefer working in Firefox. Thank you.

Ping Identity is blocking my login to one website, only when I use Firefox as my default browser. A Ping Identity "Forbidden" window replaces the sign in screen telling me to contact my system administrator. Safari allows me to sign in to the same website. Is Firefox using Ping Identity to screen login requests? Or has someone hacked into these privacy systems somewhere?

My page loads very slowly and awkwardly with the wrong fonts. Only several seconds later it manage to change to the correct fonts. This creates a really bad user experience.

How can I fix this? I have already cleared cache, but the issue seems to be present still. When I tried to make the page builder company test it on their end, they also see the issue still, and they told me to reach out here to Mozilla for a solution, as it loads properly on other browers like Chrome, Safari, Edge and Opera.

Thank you.

I'm not able to reach a webpage melsa.overdrive.com using Firefox, but I can reach it OK using Chrome. I get a message that says "Error loading page". This may be due to my NoScript add-on, but usually I can overcome that sort of problem by right-clicking on the page and then setting NoScript to a less secure setting. However, in this case, when I right-clicked on the page and then tried to left-click on NoScript in the drop-down menu, nothing happened (see attached screenshot). So the only way I can overcome the problem in this case is to disable NoScript entirely. Why am I not able to access NoScript to set it to a less secure setting, rather than disable it entirely? And is there a way to overcome that?

Recently I have had several experiences with captcha when paying for something with a credit card. I check the box saying I'm not a robot, get a green arrow, but then the purchase does not go through. Error message says I failed to satisfy the captcha, even though I was never shown the grid of images. Just now I tried the same operation with the same company invoice using Chrome, and it went through successfully by just checking the box I'm not a robot. This is very inconvenient.

I can't sign in to my Yahoo powered AT&T accounts on Firefox, but I can on Edge.

The steps I have taken to fix this are: I cleared my cache at least twice, restarted my AT&T supplied BGW320-500 router/modem and PC multiple times, a few at the same time, but none of them have done anything to fix the issue. I figured mos of them wouldn't since I can sign on using Edge. My PC is an HP Pavilion running Windows 11 on Firefox version 135.0 (64 bit).

At first when I would click on the toolbar bookmark for my AT&T email I received the panel on the right side of the screen that shows all of the AT&T accounts I'm logged in, as if I'm switching to another email account. I then selected the account I wanted to access and it changes to the login screen which is the normal process. I selected the same account again and it switches to have me input the password where I select "keep me signed in" and then the account so it will auto fill the password. I made sure it was the correct password then selected sign in. It thinks for a few seconds where the text in the tab shows "Logout successful", which is again, normal when switching from one AT&T account to another. It then loaded a page that states "Something's gone wrong", which is the attachment provided.

After I cleared the cache, and clicked on the toolbar bookmark for my AT&T email, the that opens is the one that opens where I am no logged in to any AT&T account. The results are the same as before and the same error page loads shown in the attachment when I select any email account and try to log on to it.

I'm recovering from neck surgery that along with my previous neck surgery has most definitely ruined my life, I'm wearing a halo on my head, and my neck and shoulders are cramping up so much and I just can't deal with this right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Until then I guess I have to use Edge for my email because I haven't imported my bookmarks from Firefox, nor do I want to.

Good evening,

the log in to my account on the german website "bahn.de" does not work with Firefox. On the website I can write my username in the charge account and push the button to log in - but nothing happens. No notification of an error or else. When doing the same with Microsoft Edge everything works. If there is no solution in the near future I am about to get rid of all Mozilla products.

Maybe sb can help? Thank you in advance.

I use the IRS form filler to pay my taxes...have for years with Firefox browser. This year (for 2024 return) when I sign into the site the 1040 form does not display correctly. the boxes are to the right and below the actual placement. I emailed IRS who said it is a setting in Firefox. I tried the site using Microsoft EDGE and it displays correctly. I have searched for possible solutions and tried them all like using/on and off excelerator, letting Firefox chose size and colors of sites, turned off Noton etc. I posted another question here but no replies or looks so maybe I did something wrong so I will try to post again. I have W10 fully updated and Firefox too up to date. I understand I could use Edge but never had to and prefer to use Firefox as I have before. any suggestions would be appreciated or where I can report a possible issue with Firefox. I have attached a sample. thank You

Hi.

I've been having this problem for a few months now with Firefox displaying the message "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site".

It's intermittent and not related to a particular site.

Usually, if I click "Try Again", the page loads perfectly. Sometimes, a second attempt is required.

I'm having the problem with 2 of our desktop PCs (different profiles).

It got so frustrating I switched to Brave for a while. It doesn't have the same problem.

I'm just guessing here, but I've noticed that some sites (again, no particular sites, it varies) take 10s-15s to come up. Is Firefox giving up and reporting "Server not Found" while Brave keeps trying?

The computers are rebooted daily and I've tried cycling the power on our router.

No other responses to this problem have helped.
