Will it be OK to upgrade my Firefox browser from Rel 72 to latest Rel 100 in one step ? OS is Mac OS X Monterrey 12.3..1 Or should I do 1 or more intermediate upgrades to be safe ?

FWIW, I've had enough problems upgrading from OSx Mojave to Monterrey. I am leery of the huge jump from FF 72 to 100.

All advice most welcome.

Intermediate updates until you reach the current release are always safer as sometimes special code is present to upgrade files to a newer scheme. I don't remember if this is the case with updating from 72.0.2 to 100.0.1 as Firefox 72.0.2 was the last version that still supported key3.db that could be used in case of issues with key4.db (key file that stores the encryption key for logins.json).
