At this stage, Firefox OS is mainly aimed at mobile devices and slowly progressing onto tablets. There are desktop versions of Firefox that can be bought from APC.

One of the many Linux distros like openSUSE or Ubuntu or others mentioned at distrowatch.org may be better.
