Since an update 4-5 days ago, Comcast SMTP server does not accept login from Thunderbird. Comcast help page said it was updating and requires a more secure SSL security. Today the Pop3 server does not allow signin either.

How can I select a more secure encryption that will be compatible with comcast.

Open Settings

General/system Integration

click on check now (to see if Thunderbird beta is trh default mail client on startup)

No boxes are ticked (mail, newsgroups,feeds,calendar)

I tick the Email box and then click 'Set as default'

This closes thar box I then click on 'Check Now'....the ticked Email has unticked itself.

Note: I go to menu and access 'Preferred Applications' .....Thunderbird does not appear as a choice for 'Mail' It also does not appear in the Menu. I do not know how to make that happen

Hi All, When I use Thunderbird's calendar to schedule an event it always defaults to the next available time. For example if I go into the calendar and pick a Tuesday 1pm-2pm slot on Monday at 8:30 the event pops up defaulted to Tuesday 9:00-10:00. Is this a setting I can change? To get it to pop up with an event Tues. 1-2. Thanks, Lisa

In making changes to several email accounts I inadvertently deleted the smtp passwords stored in Thunderbird for some Yahoo accounts including my Rogers account, which used Yahoo. I reinstalled the accounts, I can receive email on those accounts but can't send messages unless I enter the SMTP passwords when I try to send a mssage. Is there some way to reset the SMTP password for an account? The attached shows the settings for the current Rogers account.
