Each time we open Firefox (ver 128.3.1esr) on our Win Server 2016 & Win 10 machines, we get this error: "Configuration Error: Failed to read the configuration file. Please contact your system administrator.". Anyone know what could be going on? Everything seems to work correctly. We haven't had any problems, but would like to get to the bottom of this error.

Hello, After update to 128 the very useful Thunderbird Calendar Search has stopped working on all our computers. I see on the Internet reports there is not yet a solution. Hope you find it soon. Regards

Firefox will not open after downloading your latest update. An error message comes on screen: The file directory is corrupted and unreadable. This is occurring on a windows11 pc. I can open other files thru the microsoft browser. I'd appreciate some help, thanks, Gary

When I opened Thunderbird today, I was greeted by a giant red message warning, "This is an unsupported version of Thunderbird!! Thunderbird monthly releases are not considered stable for general use." By following a provided link to the "latest stable version of Thunderbird," I found that was version 128.3.0esr.

I did not request an update. I did have Settings> General> Updates set to "Automatically install updates", so I suppose that is how I got this version. But how was I pushed to an unsupported version? Do I need to turn off automatic installs to be protected from this in the future?

I am using windows 10 and since the last update I noticed a duplicate firefox icon is opening everytime I clicked on the main firefox icon. Attaching a screenshot.

I can't launch Firefox -- has never happened. I just need quick fix - don't have time to learn as I have Dr. appt. to get to! Got error msg.: re whatever update sent today was not compatible with whatever I already have, but I didn't write down the numbers -- they were identical, just new and older version.

What's the recommended way to update the product globally across Windows and Mac? This would include users with various versions installed but I would rather not download each. Is there a single update command that could be run without user intervention?

Windows 11 home computer with Mozilla Firefox version 122.0 from 1/23/2024 cannot be removed even in safe mode. When attempting to remove there are no errors, it just fails to go to next step when select uninstall. This version will result in a pop-up error of 'Couldn't load XPCOM.' A later version of Firefox worked with no issues. When the user accidently selects older version or at random times without user interaction the pop-up error appears.

Have not attempted to edit the registry.

Suggestions for steps to remove so a current version of Firefox can be installed would be appreciated

Whenever a new version of Firefox is installed the number inside the parenthesis increments by one.

I was wondering why this number is there in the first place.

An example would be when you go to a shortcut for firefox, what you see is something like Firefox (x), x being a number. In my case it is 60. Firefox(60).lnk and if I try deleting it, I am then asked if I want to make it Firefox (61).lnk

I recently upgraded my computer to add storage -- Thunderbird had been warning me for about two weeks that my storage was full and needed attention. The backstory is that about three months ago my email suddenly went from archived to my active email file as being unread and available to review. It was difficult to work around at first but that is what I have done...just worked around it. About one week ago I lost access to my Thunderbird emails. I had been working to remove files from my hard drive to free up storage space. [in the end I obtained additional storage capacity] and may have inadvertently deleted Thunderbird.

Currently: I began to reinstall thunderbird. The "Account Set Up" icon it asks for credentials--I had to create a new password (which could be the problem). The next question is for me to choose IMAP or POP3; selected POP3. I get the message "available configuration" but then when it is done searching I get an error message that says it cannot login to server and "can't login to server "possibly wrong configuration, username or password." I do not know how to get this straightened out. Any suggestions are appreciated.
