Kia Ora, my Gmail account has stopped downloading to Thunderbird.

I hadn't changed any settings before this happened. Have looked for solutions online, the one I saw here suggested changing the saved password in Thunderbird, which I have done, changing three gmail listings to my current gmail password.

The fix here also suggested deleting the current account, but I can't find that either.

Please advise.

Hello, Recently I was migrated from Cox email to Yahoo mail and had to change my setting on Thunderbird. The emails work fine, but there seems to a lot of missing folders. I tried to look for the latest backup file, but it does not exist. The latest backup I have is of the year 2022.

Kindly assist me in retrieving my lost folders.

p.s I have searched for the folders under the default profile section but they do not exist.

Hi When I send an email they are not going into my "sent" box. They are going into a folder with both my email account addresses i.e. if i send an email from my email account sandy.bell3@bigpond.com it goes into a folder of that email name & the same for my business email account it goes into a folder named csb.wandpc@bigpond.com which came up that obviously was created by you. I would prefer them to go into my proper "sent" folder. How do we fix this. Many thanks. Sandy

In earlier version of Thunderbird I could type in the name of a sub folder address book, Thunderbird would recognize it and add all the entries automatically. Now, in the new improved version, this doesn't happen and the only way I can see of adding the names is to manually select and add all the members of the book. Is there a way of getting Thunderbird to add the sub folder members automatically as before?

Hello, Thank you for helping me with my email problem today. The issue that I am having is that whenever I try to send email from 2 - of my 3 - email addresses I get the following error messages-

Message from electric@triad.rr.com email.

I did read and try the various suggestions that this forum made to someonme in reference to a similar problem. The emails did appear to match in settings for SMTP and I think I temporarily turned off my virus protection software. However none of these actions have solved my problem.

If someone would please make some more recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

Good morning Windows 10, TB 115.11.0 32 bit. Multiple email accounts, some gmail, others like sfr, lol and free. All accounts use POP. All working before weekend, shut down the PC. Monday morning, opened Windows, all seems there except TB which has a screen with an Account Setup tab inviting me to set up an existing email address. Close that tab and the attached screen image appears, open tabs blank, no accounts pane on the left, no emails, no local folders. Nuffin. Restart TB and Windows, twice, still Nuffin. Look in Profiles, yes, under Mail all profiles appear to be present and the correct size. Going to gmail’s on line email system shews account open and receiving email normally. I had a problem a month ago after a TB update when all accounts were present but no emails were displayed. I changed the password to 0auth and recovered my emails. That took three days to resolve and I lost a business client through the delay in responding. Today I must file several court documents or I shall be in deep poo. Any suggestions how to recover the left hand accounts pane and see the accounts and folders will earn my undying gratitude.

AND THERE AREN'T ANY MENU OPTIONS THAT ARE APPARENT TO BRING UP THE MAIN WINDOW! What?! Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to bring up the main window with my message list if it isn't already showing? (And please don't tell me to go to Settings. That worked, indirectly, but it's the least intuitive approach I think I've ever seen.)

Seriously, this was frustrating and embarrassing, since I recommended Thunderbird to her.

I use the search feature a lot, and it's extremely annoying that every time after the search I have to click "Show results as list" in order to get a proper view of the search results. The default view is quite poor in my opinion.

The question is: why isn't there an option to show the search results as a list by default?

It would surely be a very, very easy feature to implement, and as I was googling for this, I noticed that users have been asking for this for YEARS now. Why on earth hasn't it been implemented?

I previously enquired and was given a ticket number 150321. I later replied to say that the problem had gone away. This proved to be very short lived. The problem is that drop-down menus are blank. Thus clicking on "New Message" button produces a minimised blank dialog. Thus I am unable to send new e-mails. Clicking on other links such as help, tools, file etc produces narrow blank dialogs. I am able to continue receiving and reading incoming e-mails. Re-starting the computer sometimes produces a short term improvement. I am using an AMD 6 core CPU 32-bit operating system, x64-based processor I am trying to use Thunderbird 115.9 on Windows 10. It used to work, but the recent, continuing malfunction might be due to an automatic update, but I was not aware of the version number until the malfunction happened.

I have used Thunderbird for years with no problems and one of my computers does work. But this computer will not. Here is the error I receive: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: impout002.msg.chrl.nc.charter.net cmsmtp 108.147.228.33 blocked.
