Videos from other websites not loading
I can properly run almost any YouTube video (except some rare exception), but I can't see any video from other websites like Reddit, for example. I've tried all: reinstalling, resetting, safe mode, no ad-ons, private windows, clearing cache, etc... I'm using Windows Pro N <- and after a video fails to load it asks me for downloading Media Feature Pack. I have tried to install that several times and keeps dropping errors and I'm not going to format my PC. The thing I don't really understand is why does Firefox make all this so hard...
I come from Brave browser, wanted to give Firefox a chance and I'm enjoying using this browser, but I can't understand why Brave plays any video with no problem and Firefox does not even load them.

Hi, From the Firefox menu. choose Options. Scroll down and then under the Performance setting uncheck the "Use recommended performance settings" box and then uncheck the 'Use hardware acceleration when available" box. Close and relaunch Firefox and try to play a video on YouTube.

Hello chamodie1996. Seems like I forgot to mention I've also tried that! Unfortunate it also didn't work... Also, the main problem is not in YouTube, it's usually in other websites like edX, reddit, etc.

Could you view this test page on my site, it queries Firefox about what kinds of video are supported by your browser. You want to see either "supported" or "probably" in every box. Any problems?

Hello! Thank you for your reply. This is the table I am getting... something must be wrong because I got empty boxes! I used the same link you provided me in Brave browser and every box is in supported/probably.

This is strange, because I already have the OpenH264 Codec installed in Firefox.

I have already seen the link about Fix video and audio... in Firefox. It just says that I must download that Media Feature Pack, but as I said in the post it keeps giving me errors and I don't think formatting is a correct solution.
And if it works in other browsers there shouldn't be any need for that Media Feature Pack, I think.

The Media Feature Pack is required for versions of Windows that ship without the Media Foundation components. Those are what Firefox uses to decode MPEG/H.264 media. Maybe there is a trick to use OpenH264 for playing media, but normally it is used only for WebRTC (video chat).
Maybe Firefox isn't directing you to the current download page? Microsoft has these alternate instructions here:
Media Feature Pack for N versions of Windows 10 is available for download as an Optional Feature. To install the Media Feature Pack, navigate to Settings > Apps > Apps and features > Optional features > Add a feature, and then locate Media Feature Pack in the list of available optional features.
(Sorry for the U.S. English pages on Microsoft's site, I don't know how to find language neutral pages.)

Yes, thank you for researching about it. I have tried both ways. From the downloaded installed it just says Error installing this package, nothing else. And from the config. area it shows the install process and then instantly disappears, just as if it didn't get installed. I have googled and a solution seems to be to reinstall the entire operating system and making partitions, but it's strange as Brave actually seems to work.
Also, Firefox autoinstalled me those codecs from Cisco as shown in the screenshot but still seems like they are not active. I don't know which other options I have.

I hope you don't have to completely reinstall Windows. That seems rather drastic.
As I mentioned the Cisco plugin is for a different purpose and not for playing videos.
Other browsers have a different approach to patented code than Firefox, which as far as I know, can only contain open source software (thus, things that are proprietary/closed-source need to be added on or found in the system).
