A particular FROM address has worked for years, as have all others. It still receives okay. Problem started out of nowhere. This and only this FROM address gets message "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.7.1 From address not allowed. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again." Clearly all settings are fine, as all other outbound messages get sent and all inbound messages are received. Only anomaly I noticed was "+" sign in place of "@" in settings. I changed this back and forth twice, and still no joy. ISP has been unable to find an issue. Thanks for any and all help. Yes, but:
It turned out that Verizon FIOS (not so easy to find this out) had instituted a changed policy as of 11/15, shutting out all third party servers. After some gymnastics, I was finally able to engage the server I wanted and route outgoing email through that.
Thanks.

Your reply is spot-on, but can you please tell me what gymnastics were required to fix the problem?
I apologize for the delay. Somehow I missed the inquiry. The gymnastics had to do with communicating with my third party provider, and so was an anomalous problem particular to me. I have a new question in follow up, though, and I will post that separately. cf
