I restored Thunderbird from a backup but I can not find address book or any .mab files.

It was a mistake. I managed to restore my win10 computer to day one. I am trying to get my files back from backup. I have Thunderbird working but my address book is gone. I think that the files should be abook.mab and history.mab. HELP!

Thge file names are correct. if you have managed to drill down to the hidden folders that the profile is stored in, and they are missing from your backup there is little we can do about it.

The abook.mab and history.mab files are certainly two essential parts of the address book.

You seem to be reasonably confident that you have backed up your profile.

I made a backup the day before but when I run restore files the files do not go into the original place. And I can find the .mab files and others in my backup. I put them in a folder but how do I get them where they belong?
