Error on importing contacts from Outlook to Thunderbird.

While clicking the option TOOLs-IMPORT-Addressbooks- OUTLOOK. On Windows 8 OS, I get the following message: There is no mail program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel. I have associated PST files to the Thunderbird app and still have the same error. Which other files shall I associate? On the other hand on the present unit with Windows 8 Outlook is not installed.Thanks in advance for your kind support.
