How to transport/share history between machines manually?

more options

I have a couple computers that I would like to have share (URL browsing) history, but would like to do it manually rather than via Synch. I have been copying places.sqlite and sessionstore.js between the machines, and this does work most of the time, though occasionally the history gets entirely cleared (perhaps when I add or modify bookmarks on one of the machines? I haven't determined the exact circumstances yet). Is there another file or files I could copy to make this history sharing more reliable (hopefully much less than the entire profile subdirectory)? Thank you in advance for any assistance! --John

There's no official supported intermediate format for import/export of history, so places.sqlite probably is the best file to share. Of course, you need Firefox to be closed on both ends (before copying, before pasting) to ensure that temporary files used for database efficiency are fully reconciled with the main places.sqlite file. Or bad things might happen...
