For better or for worse, Firefox does not share the Windows system certificate store used by IE and Chrome. ESET also should set up Firefox to work with its filtering feature, automatically, without you having to do anything, by adding its signing certificate to Firefox's certificate store. However, the Refresh feature remove that file and requires that it be set up again. I'm not sure whether ESET would do that on the next Windows startup, or whether you have to do it manually (import the ESET certificate yourself).

As I said, the developers are working on fixing the problem of "Use current pages" including the Options page itself. I don't know whether the fix will make it into Firefox 43, it might not be until Firefox 44.

Thank you for your comments. I suggest also using the Feedback page, since support questions get buried quickly with new emergencies.

https://input.mozilla.org/feedback

Regarding #1, what did you have in mind? This article describes some available methods: How to set the home page

Regarding #2, this is a known problem the developers are working on.

Regarding #3, Firefox is unlikely to ever get a feature that lets you completely ignore secure connection problems. Are there particular kinds of situations that are a problem for you? Firefox should work readily with mainstream and well run sites without any problems.

Regarding #4, what do you mean by "reset the browser"? The Refresh button is on the support information page, as described in: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

Regardind #1 & #2 when i open two pages and then i use use current pages i also get the setting page there i delete it and then i try to save the rest of pages but it just doesn't work. i need a simple apply button that would save every change i made per page in the settings or just one in general.

Regarding #3 if for what ever reason firefox recognize a site as unsecure like not https and etc i need an option that said i'm sure it's a good site let me in any way like i have in google chrome you can't just block me completly in my own computer or browser because i would otherwise simply use a diffrent browser for that site that does not have a problem or allow me to choose what is a good site and what is not and not some obsucre who knows what buggy mecansiem who block sites which i use for years and yeasrs.

Regarding #4 hidind things in url address like about:support is well and good for most advance options but if i have urget problem, malwarem, toolbar and etc i need a quick exist strategy i don't the time or desire to start digging in guides about firefox in google.i need to go to setting, advance press reset button like IE have in internet options and like google chrome have in there three lines and then advance setting at the bottom of the page and that it.in short i need and easy to remeber and quick way to reset the browser not a complicated and not so easy to remeber sometime url address and choose one very important options among many...:)

You can pin the tab with the about:preferences page to prevent including about:preferences to the home page setting if you want to use this button. To set a single page as the home page you can drag the globe/padlock to the toolbar Home button.

4) It is usually better to first try to fix an issue in the current profile folder instead of too quickly use the Refresh/Reset feature in Firefox and create a new profile.

Are you in need of using this feature that much that you want this button to be easier to spot?

Note that there is security software like Avast and Kaspersky and BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate. You should always investigate what is wrong with the certificate and avoid making a permanent exception, but ask for advice on how to fix this.

more options

Regarding permanent exception i need an easy way in the secure messege itself to do that not dig arround afer word, also i know my site and i have Eset smart security the diffrent is that i can disable eset if i want to enter a certein site which i know but she does not approve FF however i can't not in a simple but slightly advance method of knowing what to mark in the error messege itself. if you want you can hide it well in the error so that not everyone would know how to use but to not have the option entierly without setting permanet exception somewhere eles later that is just not so good for me sorry.

Regarding one i usuallt need two home pages so any other option other then use current pages is not good for me.i encounter people sometimes with malware, toolbar problems in there browser now in IE and chrome it is simple just reset the browser and begin again in FF it is not as simple as that and that can be a problem to explaine to less advance users to fix the problem in some what complicated and not complety comftarble to use to people who does not have good knowledge and just want to get rid of the problem as soon as possible.:)

Ok i am hopping that you would fix what you can in the next versions but for now it is not completly comftarble for me to use FF browser. Maybe WaterFox or Cyberfox mainly becuase i need my two home pages and if it is not simple to do it like in waterfox for instance who does not have this problem by the way or other browsers i have then it something that i can't live without it. i will try back again in version 44 and will see what will be then.:)

Thank you very much for all your help.:D

Sorry if this was not clear but you don't need to use a save button to save your edit to your home page address(es):

  • Click in the home page field and edit out "about:preferences" and the extra vertical bar
  • Press the tab key to leave the home page field (or click somewhere else on the page) and the change is saved automatically

Alternately, you can edit the address(es) this way:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste home and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.startup.homepage preference and edit out anything that shouldn't be there, then click OK
