FF does not open but tab appears on Taskbar

I have been using FF 5.0 just fine but suddenly today when I started my PC and launched FF, it does not open up a window but the tab appears on the Taskbar. When I select Maximise on that Taskbar tab, it opened up. The window is closed when I click on the Minimise button with the Tab still on the Taskbar. How do I resolve this problem? Thank you. I am using Windows Vista Home Basic Service Pack 2.

Hi Mozilla Support,

I just want to report that the problem I had appeared to have been resolved.

What happened was after I updated some plug-ins and restarted FF it opened up in Maxmise window, as I last used. Then I clicked on the Minimise button it resized to a very narrow window across my monitor just showing the Menu. I dragged the frame and resized it. I tested by closing and restarting FF and problem did not recur. Question is why did the problem first occured?
