Does Signing Into Firefox Do Something, Such as Save Your Session?
I sign into Firefox because I always believed it did something, but when I update the browser, I lose all my tabs. When restore previous session doesn't work, isn't that the point of signing into the browser so it remembers and you can push the whole Firefox session to another computer? Using this Firefox session on my MacBookPro and want it on my iMac and would like to know how to do that. Would like to know how to lock down the session too. What is going on right now, I don't understand where the session went. I'm logged in. What's the point of logging in? This is getting circular.

To use Firefox, it is not necessary to sign into anything. So, are you talking about signing into a website? The Primary(Master) Password? Sync?

What about the rest of your profile? Settings, bookmarks, history, passwords . . . .
You may have corrupt sessionstore [v56] sessionstore.jsonlz4 file(s).
Delete all sessionstore* files and the sessionstore-backups folder.
Don't delete the files if you need to rescue any data from them, just move them out of the profile folder to some location where Firefox doesn't look for them. You can try to read out their contents using this tool: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/scrounger.html
Type about:support<enter> in the address box.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.
Appreciate you taking the time to write all of this but I can't make sense of any of it. I'm not so concerned with restoring this backup but I'd like to know how being signed into Firefox does anything. I would like it to be able to make it so I can log in to Firefox and all my browser tabs can populate because they're open on another computer that is logged in, or because I saved them all in a session so I can log in and repopulate them.

You don't need to log into anything to use Firefox. You may need to log into some websites you want to visit, sync if you are using it, and the Primary(Master) Password if you are using it.

I want to be able to take a window in Firefox with 20 tabs and log into ANOTHER computer and load those 20 tabs. How can I do that?
