Unable to reply or send email in Thunderbird for my charter.net email account. Message is saying 206.204.230.184 is blocked. When using "WHOIS IP, is says it is Beacon Broadband, who is my internet provider. Strange part to me is that if I go to charter (now Spectrum) through my browser it has no problem though I am on the same computer with the same internet provider. What setting needs to be changed to restore this outgoing email issue? Thank you for your support!

I have an e-mail in my TB in-box. The mail contains a hyperlink to Facebook. When I click on the hyperlink, I get the message copied above in the Subject of this problem. In almost all cases, if I re-click on the icon in the e-mail, the re-click takes me to the desired URL in Firefox. My Thunderbird is 128.11.1esr (64-bit). Why is the first click producing the error message? Would there be anything in the TB Error Console?

However: • Receiving and replying to emails works normally • Safe Mode does not resolve the issue • Disabling all add-ons has no effect • Reinstalling Thunderbird did not help • I confirmed I am using version 140.0esr

Thunderbird hangs immediately as soon as I click the Junk folder. Another issue that may be related to this. I posted a question about Thunderbird hanging in a few minutes after starting. It hung this morning when I was downloading the message. The inbox, which had hundreds of messages, became empty. After I downloaded messages again, it had over 6000 messages, most of which were junk. It seems the junk filter is not working now. Could anyone offer a tip on the remedy for this?

New Message Button Does Not Work On TB v.140.0.1esr Local Folders

[I am starting a new post because I was replying to someone else's post and it stopped working.]

After updating to TB v.140.0esr (then just now updating to v.140.0.1esr) from v.128esr, I cannot compose a new message in any Local Folders or my main virtual inbox. The +New Message button is there, but clicking it does nothing. It was working for over a decade before this.

However, going into the normal account folder inboxes DOES allow me to click the "+New Message" button and start/compose a new message.

I can still reply to messages in the local and virtual folders, just not start a new message.

I have tried disabling all security software. No luck.

I have ran Help > Troubleshoot mode with no addons. No luck.

When I create a new folder under Local Folders, clicking New Message still does nothing while in that new folder. But if I move that new folder to an existing email account, then go to the new folder, clicking New Message works correctly.

I am on Windows 10. I did use the addon Manually Sort Folders in the past, but not recently.

I ran the Check Error Console (ctrl+shift+J) on TB v.140.0esr. Here is the paste:

How to do a "hard string" search in TB? I have asked this question several times over the years and never got a real definitive answer?

I need to find the one email in 1000 that has ONLY these characters in only these spaces ONLY in ONLY this order. Only. I do not need to see any searches that begin with these characters or end with these characters or contain these characters I ONLY want to see ONLY searches with exactly this character in this first space and only this character in the second space, etc ...

The ability to all related to my "string" is fabulous (and much harder) most of the time, but sometimes, I just need to see ONLY that strict "hard string".

It's a basic beginner programmer compare operation. Should be easy, How do I do that (and only that)

Get Messages stops working; need to restart Thunderbird

I've been using Thunderbird for decades. I have Thunderbird set to automatically download messages every 5 minutes. Platform: Computer Win11 Home, Thunderbird 128.10.0e… (saznaj više)

I've been using Thunderbird for decades. I have Thunderbird set to automatically download messages every 5 minutes. Platform: Computer Win11 Home, Thunderbird 128.10.0esr (64-bit), POP3 connection (also with IMAP connection on a MacOS computer.

But a new issue is now occurring. Every so often now, I realize I haven't received any new email downloads in some time. I click on the Get Messages button (or right-click and select items individually), but nothing happens - no "Host Contacted..." message in the Status Bar. It's like the Get Messages function is completely disabled. It is only when I quit then restart Thunderbird does it successfully establish a connection and download the many queued emails.

Please let me know if this is a known bug, or if there is a way to submit this as a bug. Also let me know of any other information you would need in order to help debug this issue. Thanks!

After wasting hours trying “this and that” – I did successfully "import" (not in the “import” menu) a single .EML (text) email file into my TB 115.10 e-client? I can’t remember how – and can’t duplicate it.

Yes, I know there’s an “extension” to do this, but if I did it only with TB 115.10 – why deal with the paranoia of permissions (must have access to everything)?

I need to “move” about 4000 emails from an ancient ISP (still used, too) into my TB 115.10 e-client – to then move to ”Folders” and then archive off-line. I can download emails (to my folder) from the ISP only individually as .EML files – and did get one successfully into TB (it reads [looks about the same] as an email “retrieved” by TB).

I can only “download” individual ISP emails (their rules, programming) so, hoping to set up a macro to “download” about 100 per day. My ISP inbox is almost full every day with new emails that must be deleted or “moved” due to new emails arriving every day.

Any ideas – or better still step by step suggestions?

Responses in Spanish are fine – French or Portuguese workable.

I have the latest versions of Thunderbird and Firefox, with the current Windows 11.

For some time I cannot access any more Gmail messages from my Thunderbird.

When cancelling my email address in Thunderbird and trying to reopen it as new address, I'm getting the message "registration on the server failed".

Then I tried to open my email address on the laptop of my wife in her Thunderbird: there it works perfectly.

In addition I tried to open her email address on my Thunderbird: I'm getting the same message "registration on the server failed".

We have both Thunderbird 128.12

I'm working with Windows 11.

She is still on Windows 10.

Any ideas?

Thunderbird n'arrêtait pas de demander le "nouveau mot de passe" et le rejetait constamment. Nous avons d'abord essayer de supprimer, puis ajouter le compte. Cela n'a pas marché. Nous avons désinstallé puis réinstallé Thunderbird. Puis, nous avons tenté d'ajouter le compte (avec protocole IMAP 993 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal et 465 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal). Hello, Thunderbird has interrupted the connection to a friend's Orange email account. The email address and password are correct (they allow access to the account online). Thunderbird kept asking for the ‘new password’ and constantly rejected it. We first tried deleting and then adding the account. That didn't work. We uninstalled and then reinstalled Thunderbird. Then we tried adding the account (with IMAP 993 SSL/TSL normal password and 465 SSL/TSL normal password). That didn't work. We restarted the computer each time. What can or should we do?
