I push the down arrow button my browser acts like I hit the End button. It automatically goes to the bottom of the page. This is frustrating because I am having to use the slide bar on the side to scroll up and down and its not user friendly.

Try hitting F7 - you might have inadvertently enabled Caret Browsing.
