Firefox worked OK on OpenSUSE version 11.2 but crashed when I updated to version 11.3.

Are you using Firefox from the Linux distribution or the official version as download from the Mozilla site (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html) ?

If you use the OpenSUSE branded version then try to uninstall all Mozilla Firefox and XUL Runner components and reinstall Firefox.
