Gmail switch
Hello. All of a sudden i have been getting prompts just before completing gmail sign is asking if i want to switch to html or default.I chose default,tried to sign in again,and got this legacy version of gmail with messages being listed in html format which is brutal.What caused this ? how do i get it back to the way its always been? Whats going on with this,and why is this even happening? Its also saying i used a tablet or mobile device to sign in twice,and i dont ever do that. How can i get it back to the way its always been? Have tried googling all of this but it happens on its own,and sometimes it doesn,t after i sign out of the html ,and reboot,but its unpredictable,and its like stuff has been altered. Thankyou.

Hi. Usually when i go to sign in to gmail my username,and password are already saved in firefox, and i just clik through until i,m in. No problems ever,then a couple days ago i get a prompt or nag or alert or whatever you want to call it asking me if i want to use the default gmail which i assumed was what i always have,or if i want html. Since i have never seen this before i was kind of stunned asking myself wtf, or where did this come from,and since google or gmail sometimes introduce new themes or options i figured that was what was going on. There are quite a few people having this issue, and not being able to solve it with the suggestions that have already been given elseswhere on the web.I dont want it in html format now that i know what it means because i never heard of it before. Is this a firefox setting or a gmail setting is what i am wondering right now.I think most likely it is a gmail setting, but i didnt make the change for gmail to ask me to make the choice for html or default. Hope this clears it up. Thanks.

Just logged in again to gmail,and it went fine like it always has.The next time or some other time i login it will log me in but in html format,which is what has been happening for the last few days,and i cant get rid of it even by rebooting.

I have had bad luck,bad advice from customer service people who i thought knew way more than i do about clearing cookies on a different issue.Following their advice accurately led to nothing good,so i,ll wait on that for now. Log in was fine.When clicking the gear icon it says I am using the original gmail view,and below there is an option to try the new gmail view,so maybe thats what has caused this to begin with.Maybe that option has just become available,and they are having trouble integrating it into the gmail options/ settings area. Thanks for all the suggestions.I hope i.,m right.

Gmail account issue isn't something FireFox can fix since that is Google system.
Hi. Well,right now people are still guessing ,and trying to figure how to make it go away permanently. This is something brought on by ....................... I agree now,but some people who were also convinced it was a gmail issue,and did the suggested fixes were/are still having the same issue reappear. Thanks.
Hi. After logging out from youtube then closing the window,and then opening another window and attempting to log in to email,it went to my inbox,but in html format,so looks like it might have something to do with youtube as well as gmail.If i can find a fix for that eleswhere i,ll post it here,and wherever else. Thanks.
Update... Several months ago Gmail switched their view of messages without saying anything.When messages arrived in my inbox there was no way to tell how many new messages there were,and the messages all looked the same because the new messages were not highlighted like they were before in the original view.Just switched from original to new,and back to original view again because the new gmail view is the same as what they switched me to several months ago without a word,and it still sucks the same as back then.
Hello. To prevent gmail from loading in html format while being logged in to youtube via gmail,I have to sign out from youtube first,then that will automatically log me out from gmail as well,and then I can log in again later,and there will be no html format.Thats the fix. If I log out from gmail first ,and close youtube after logging out from gmail,then try to log into gmail again later,it will load in html format. Thanks for the suggestions everybody.
