I upgraded to OS 10.10-where is my adress book/group info?

When I went to add a name to a group in my address book, my address book is suddenly blank. I just upgraded to OS 10.10.5 (from 10.8) because I bought a new computer. Now I can't access my address book. Everything else transferred over. When I type in the names, they populate, but nothing is in the address book itself.
