when e-mail moved to thunderbird, one of my 2 addresses disappeared.
my preferred e-mail is jhu57028@bigpond.com. my back up e-mail, that disappeared when thunderbird was installed for me, was john.humphrys@bigpond.com.

ass mail account can be added and deleted from Thunderbird I really do not understand.
On the toolbar 
> File > get messages for..
Does this other account appear there.
Right click your account in the folder pane and select settings. What accounts do you see there.
Please add the troubleshooting information to your post To find the Troubleshooting information:
- Open Help (or click on three-line-icon and select Help)
- Choose Troubleshooting Information
- Use the button Copy to clipboard to select all. Do not check box "Include account names"!
- Paste this in your post.
the second e-mail address just does not appear. suspect the technical help person who moved me from outlook express to thunderbird just did not set up this second address. i don't no how to set up this second address (backup only) in thunderbird.
right click your account in the folder pane and select settings. At the bottom is an account actions button. Use it to add an existing mail account. and enter your details.
thank you Matt. when i go to account, it asks if you want a new account. does this mean it will replace your existing e-mail, or that it will enter a new one? thanks for all your trouble. john
in the account actions button you select Add a mail account.
Insert the relevant information your asked for and the wizard will usually just add the account to Thunderbird. There are occasions when setting can not be found or the anti virus blocks access, but the procedure is an account is added..
