Hello, Since this morning Thunderbird asks for my password everytime I click on my email logo to look at my emails. When I enter the password I can have access to my emails which semm to come in normally. If I close Thunderbird down and come back two minutes later it asks for the password again and so on. Can someone tell me how I can stop this ? Thank You. P.B.

I have been having much trouble with Thunderbird. The latest problem is with the Sent folder. When I try to Compact Folders I get the message "The folder 'Sent on Local' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again."

I have plenty of disk space and have Full Control. I tried creating a temporary folder and moving all the Sent messages to it, so that Sent had zero messages. I still got the same message. The file listing showed Sent to have a size of 182 MB even though it didn't contain any messages. I've tried deleting sent.msf to force Thunderbird to recreate the index - didn't work. I tried using Repair Folder. That worked, but when I tried Compacting Folders again it found another folder with the same problem. I fixed that one and then it said the Sent folder was bad once again. I'm going around in circles!

I've deleted and recreated scores of .msf files for various reasons, trying to get Thunderbird to work without errors, but as soon as I get one problem fixed, another one crops up. I'd conclude that it's my computer, except that I'm not having any problems with other programs.

Any thoughts on this particular problem or Thunderbird problems in general? Thanks.

Something has changed in the way Thunderbird is handling Replies. Replies used to be added to the original email with an arrow indicating that the email had been responded to. Now the reply is added to the mail list as a separate email grossly clogging up the list of emails. Sometimes the "replay arrow" is displayed and sometimes not. I do not want the reply shown as a separate email. Is there some setting that will accomplish this? I have been unable to find anything that looks like it would work.

PS The Bold and Italic for this email did not work.

Hello. I want to archive my older e-mails to a Local Folder that I created. I set up Archiving to archive to an "Archive" subfolder on Local Folders. But when I select e-mails and try to archive them by right-clicking and choosing "Archive," they don't appear in the folder I created. A subfolder is created with the year of the e-mails as its name, but there's nothing in it. If I look at its Properties, it shows 0 messages. I also tried selecting e-mails and copying them to the local folder, but that doesn't work either. I get the same result. I also tried repairing the folders and closing and re-opening TBird, but no help.

My Thunderbird version is 68.12.1 64 bit, running on Windows 7 x64. Any help would be appreciated. I can provide any info that might be needed.

Hi. Long time user, first time writer....

I like the older versions of Thunderbird without message threading. I tried to turn off in Settings Config but did not work. Can I revert to an older version? Or can you please tell me how to make the threading stop? I am on a Mac.

This folder looks like a "duplicate" as I have read here, but when I delete emails from this folder, they get deleted from the inbox. So I'd just prefer for "All Mail" not to appear in Thunderbird. But I don't see how to make that happen.... Never had so much trouble trying to understand the bizarre behaviors of Thunderbird.

I just installed Thunderbird, linked it to my primary email account (ok!) and then tried to import one year's worth of email messages exported from my Apple Mail client as .mbox folders with an underlying folder structure (1 per month). Thunderbird went away for about 2 hours "downloading" and importing ( ... looking good!), but at the end my "Local Folder: Apple Mail Import" still shows no messages. Where are they and how can I access them in the Thunderbolt client?

Why is this happening for the 2nd time in less than a year? Starting yesterday afternoon I am no longer receiving emails and I get a message saying my password is not recognized.

I use Thunderbird to download and send messages - my hosting is with Primus in Canada. I am vacationing in Pakistan and no messages are downloading. When I try to reply to a message it says 'Sending message' but after about 30 seconds, this appears

Konto einrichten, Ich versuche, das Konto admin@meine-schatz-kiste.de auf meinem neuen Laptop einzurichten, erhalte jedoch die Fehlermeldung: "Konfiguration nicht möglich, da Benutzername, Mailadresse oder Passwort nicht übereinstimmen." Auf meinem älteren Laptop habe ich alle Angaben überprüft, die korrekt sind, einschließlich des Passworts, welches in meiner Passwortliste erfasst ist. Nachdem ich das bestehende Konto auf dem älteren Laptop gelöscht habe, versuchte ich, das Konto mit einem neuen Passwort neu einzurichten, erhielt jedoch dieselbe Fehlermeldung. Warum passiert das? Hello, I have a problem as shown in the attached print screen. I have many other mailboxes in Thunderbird and I don't have such problems with them. The one that is causing the error is an old mailbox with a lot of old emails, so it probably needs some memory. Have you encountered this issue before and how did you solve it?

Since the message is in Polish, below I paste the translation: "Saving the message in the mailbox failed. Please check if you have the necessary write permissions in the system and if there is enough free space available to copy the mailbox."

I have a problem with forwarding messages. This issue only occurs when the message is signed with an S/MIME certificate. Pressing the forward button opens the email forwarding window, but there is no content or attachment in the email. The problem started today after updating to version 128.6.0esr.

In transferring Thunderbird to a new pc I have somehow ended up with 2 identical account names. One uses pop, the other imap. Looking at the profile folders, one is labelled 'default' and the other 'default-release'. (1) What is a 'default-release' profile please? (2) how do I find out which profile relates to which account name (the accounts have contain different folders) and then safely get rid of one of the accounts so that everything goes through the imap server setting? I am trying to transfer the address book form an old to new macbook. I installed new tbird. Old mac has 115.18, new 128.6.0. I copied the .mab.bak, and also renamed as .mab to the /profiles/xxx.default folder and also tried to the /profiles folder. Also tried copying sqlite. The new tbird created a xxx.default.sqr folder at some point. I get onef of the old addresses only. I have wasted 3 hours. I am willing to un-install and start over. I am somewhat familiar with unix and using a Terminal

How can I merge the inbox of several different email accounts into one "global account" so that I need to check only one single account but not each of them separately?

Trying to cure this. Details: Windows 10 PC with Firefox. Tbird 128.6.0esr (64-bit) . Nortons.

When I boot up first thing, sometimes Emails OK, sometimes Email sending failure, previously sometimes Email receiving failure. Restarting PC or Tbird has no effect.

Witam. Mam na 2 komputerach stacjonarnych aplikację Thunderbird. Mam na nich podpięte te same adresy mailowe. Oprócz tego te same adresy mailowe mamy skonfigurowane na 2 smartfonach (w aplikacji outlook i gmail). W tym momencie jest tak, że na komputerach jak przychodzą maile, to są oznaczone jako nieprzeczytane. Problem jest wtedy jak te same maile wpadają na smartfona, to od razu przekształcają się jako przeczytane w Thunderbird, mimo, że w ogóle ich nie ruszałem w smartfonach. To dotyczy jednego konta mailowego. Na innym jest tak, że w Thunderbird jest jako nieoznaczony mail cały czas, ale jak go tam przeczytam, to na drugim komputerze w Thunderbird odznacza się i jest jako przeczytany, mimo ,że go się nie otwierało. Dlaczego tak się dzieje? Jak zrobić, żeby wszystkie wiadomości, które wpadają do konkretnego Thubderbird były cały czas oznaczone jako nieprzeczytane, dopóki je faktycznie przeczytamy tylko w tym konkretnym programie? Mam nadzieję, że wszystko jest zrozumiałe
