I'm in the process of cleaning up Thunderbird e-mail before moving to a new computer. I started with 11,593 e-mails in my Inbox and 7,799 e-mails in my Sent folder. I'm now down to 7,634 in my Inbox and 4,965 in my Sent folder. I've allocated 2 weeks for this process and found that it's taking me about 3 hours per day to meet my daily goals. I'm finding that I'm spending at LEAST half the time responding to "Empty-Trash/Compact-folders" requests. There are times I can delete 50 e-mails at a time without getting a request. Other times I will try to delete ten e-mails and get the request. With the old version of Thunderbird I could literally delete hundreds of e-mails at a time. Can you help? Russ Bukwa Yardley, PA ps. Hi, I've read all I can find with regard to 'Threading' but still can't separate all the emails into separate emails. I can't find anything that explains exactly how to switch it off, or how to remove threading from emails already in a thread. I've tried every combination of On, Off, Compact etc. all with no effect. Please explain exactly how to get rid of this damn nuisance. The previous version was much better.

Sometimes when I copy & past part of an article, et,c it changes some of the format settings for TB email. I've been unable to change text style back to the original setting of the email. What I pasted will have ended in a footnote in superscript and I can't change the text style back to no specific text style or any other text style. IIf i click on discontinue text styles (in Format menu) if I try to continue typing email message it'll still be in superscript. This has happened multiple times. I can skip to the next line, doesn't matter, superscript will still be the text style, not the original text style of the email.

How do I return the text style to the original settings?

When replying or forwarding an email and including a previous email in the reply/forward, Thunderbird automatically inserts colorful vertical lines | .

I would like to remove any type of vertical line (or carrot >) from these emails.

How do I remove any vertical lines or other notations from replies or forwards. It is all very distracting.

I hope this request can be seen by developers.

A message sent to me never appeared in my mailbox but was labeled "blacklisted by user" I cannot find a way to undo this !

I have CPTSD to yellow color. It is possible that I will feel headaches or stomachaches after I see that color too often. I just wonder is that possible to let us change the color. It is fine we cannot and I just allow remote content instead.

Somehow I have lost my check and download email buttons at the top left of Thunderbird. I have checked what I believe is every option to get them back but to no avail. Somehow I hid the easy enough but now they are gone I can't seem to find out how to get them back.

I am experiencing strange behaviour with Thunderbird and certain add-ons. For some time now, when I use certain add-ons that are supposed to display a menu, the menu does not appear. It is replaced by a circle (see attached image : two different add-ons, not showing simultaneously, but merged into the same capture). I have disabled all other add-ons, but this has not resolved the issue. I think there must be a setting that is causing the problem. But with so many settings, I don't know where to look.

Does anyone know how to find the reason for this behaviour?

I am using Thunderbird 139.0.2 (64-bit) with Windows 11.

When I click on an email in my mail 'inbox', items open in a 'send' window? Why don't they open into a 'read' window? Why are emails opened with red outline boxes and largely inaccessible? Can you help? Must I reload Thunderbird and Firefox? Are there tweaks that I am missing. I have spent several hours trying to sort this out, so far no luck!! Can you help?

Since the last update Thunderbird no longer highlights words in spell check which makes it difficult to determine what word it is checking. Is there a way to resolve this?

The previous view and use was excellent not I can't see how the new process works. Whatever you did has disrupted my work flow and does not make any sense. How can I get back to what was working so well? Also much of my info@reelent.com yearly review is no longer that..... Family correspondences, etc. his applies to all years and files even though the example is from the past.... The new look is scary. Thanks

Sometimes the I accidently moved a folder to somewhere and I don't know where it was moved into and I can't find it, or don't know what folder was moved.

Can you please make an Undo folder setting, so that whenever it was moved, it can undo back.

"Non-synchronized messages are still accessible within Thunderbird. The only difference is that rather than downloading the entire message, only the message "headers" are downloaded. (Message headers contain information like the sender, recipient(s), subject, etc - everything except the body of the message.) The message body is not downloaded until you click on the message in the message list"

Under what settings (e.g. Sync messages checked or unchecked) does this behavior apply?

I just updated from Windows 10 to 11 & now my Mozilla Thunderbird scroll bar on the right side is either extremely thin or not present at all. I also notice that My Firefox browser has a very thin scroll bar. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks for any help.
