Normally when I would click on a bookmark it would automatically load. But since the last update they don't work unless I go to the site and re-bookmark it?

Since last two updates, I noted I can't click on the URL field or any icons next to each other two versions ago. I changed the Bluetooth mouse to a lined mouse, then it went OK. But with the latest update, again, the same symptom occured and persists: I am on MacBookPro, so I manage to Command+any command key.
How can I restore and click on URL field, copy URL, or reload the URL address again? OF course, I need to use other icons for each function.

WHY IS THIS ALWAYS A PROBLEM WITH UPDATES???? IT SEEMS THAT THE UPDATES WHEN LISTED DON'T SHOW HAVING ANY TAB INFO, BUT SURE AS DAY/NITE WHEN I TURN MY DESKTOP AND FIREFOX, TABS ARE MISSING AND I CAN'T RECOVER THEM.
IT WOULD SEEM THAT IF THE DESIGNERS REALLY WANTED TO DO SOMETHING WELL, THEY SHOULD BE TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS.

I have a machine I've been using for months and haven't got around to archiving the history and tabs for some research I was doing. I realized this could be problematic if anything happened to the machine, so I decided to sign-in to my Mozilla/Firefox account I made years ago, so it would be safely sync'd.
Everything was fine at first, it showed it was syncing and whatnot, but then after several minutes, Firefox crashed. Upon relaunching, ALL of my history is gone! Neither signed-in nor signed-out shows any history at all, except the searches I've done just now trying to undo this mess. Did I really just loose months of history due to some bug or is there a way I can manually restore or see it from the mess of cache/profile files on my machine?
Ubuntu user, so will be at ~/ or similar for most things I assume.
When will problem of picking up Firefox email contacts be resolved?
