I asked this question some time back here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1362859 I'm asking again to reframe the question. The problem is - if my experience is a guide to the rest of the world - VTT files (which are used to caption HTML video) are no longer read/loaded by Firefox when it is viewing the HTML file locally (i.e. file://). On the web they are loaded as expected. Presumably there's a security setting somewhere in Firefox that now refuses to load the VTTs locally. Maybe under Help > More troubleshooting information there is a setting to change to fix that?

So I wanted to join Rally, but I am concerned about granting access to my passwords and logins to the Rally clients. If I create a new profile and sign in with my only Firefox account will Rally clients have access to my passwords and logins from other profiles?

I used to sign in to my credit card through Elan Financial Services and then I would highlight my credit card, tell it the date range I needed to update to Quicken, and hit enter. a popup would give me the option of opening the file or to save the quicken file to my computer. I would select the option to open the file and it would update my register on Quicken. Now, I only get the option to save the file to my computer. On Microsoft Edge, I still get the choice to open or save the file. Why doesn't Firefox support the Open Function anymore. I use Firefox for everything, but now I have to remember to switch to Edge for this one important update. Is this a change in Firefox or something I have to deal with Elan on? no ryme or reason that i have found. not a continuous issue, works normal 3 hours, next minute boom takes off immediately to bottom, if i reverse direction action will stop, then i drag bar back upward where it took off. I have replaced batteries in mouse thinking low voltage, not this issue, on-screen cursor will stop/n start or to me acts like too many other background apps running using all bandwidth or ram = low batt voltage =replace batt problem solved. scrolling issue does seem to happen more often in overnight hours, hard to say definitively, MS is no help, after reading 9 pg. of community scrolling issues mine is diff. no issues of randomly, this has been happening for awhile 2yrs maybe more. its the random part that confuses me, i gone threw all mouse settings on/off n firefox, windows, HP, no fix, no error, very odd, i have changed wireless mouses, i dont think i've tried a corded one, after this i will, just gotta find it. HP laptop; Gear Head MPT3200RED mouse;HDMI cord to 42" Sanyo LED TV; ANKER USB w/4 xtra slots; I never touch laptop lid is closed all time, multiple screen switch on. Its very annoying only one indention roll of wheel, one line selected in win settings, mouse receiver plugged into laptop which is approximately 6 ft. away max. there will be days works perfectly normal, n then this evening started again, probly been week maybe, i'm gonna start keeping track of every factor i can think off date, time, website, tabs active, extension s on/active eg. just now tubi going threw my list which is very long page, 6 dvd picture lines down boom takes off just caught it around line 20 outta 150 lines maybe, heres thot, internet access threw verizon hotspot using tether hi speed cable connected to Galaxy S9, if web page not fully loaded thats when action starts, once it starts doesnt matter then random part kicks in, i can restart cpu, or disconnect S9 for minute , sometimes that helps, but not always. oh. i also use onscreen keyboard to type...suks...this Q has taken over hour to type as i click one letter at a time to spell words, my hand n index finger cramping. any thots you can think of wud be most appreciated , i'll do my best at documenting incidents , thnx vic

suddenly Firefox is blocking my entry to a specific site with the measage "Log on error. You need to enable cookies in your browser to logon to Internet Banking." I have tried umpteen ways around this to no avail. Google Chrome does not have this problem!! I am using version 100.0.2

I watch videos on dropout.tv which uses the Vimeo SDK as their player for the videos. After switching to Firefox, the video progress has consistently started from where I left off on Chrome. The site doesn't remember where I ended the video when I watch it on Firefox. I assume this has to do with the cookies, but I've manually added "dropout.tv" to the list of exceptions in Firefox settings so that that site is always allowed to store cookies.

Returning briefly to Chrome, the player immediately tracked my progress again, so the issue is definitely related to Firefox somehow.

Every time I log in or refresh outlook, I get an email ad for outlook upgrade. It is from microsoft, and can be opened as an email, but it is an ad and can't be blocked. These emails remain blocked with Brave, and I am running an ad blocker. Will mozilla update to remove these ads, or is there an ad blocker that works better with Mozilla. When I inspect it, the first line shows:-

When trying to log into our email domain (email.grassrootstahoe.com) The brand logo shows up but not the login form. I have tested on other devices and it works fine, other browsers on this device load it fine as well. I talked to our email hosting and they have no solution as they can not recreate the issue. I disabled all add ons, started in troubleshooting mode, and still the form does not load. In private browsing the page wont load at all. Thanks for any help.

Recently I was forced to install some "stuff" on my work laptop. Unfortunately, I am not quite sure what they installed. I have contacted my IT department and all I've gotten in response is that "we haven't blocked any browser or sites."

Since this update, I find that Gmail will eventually show an error and when I go to refresh the page, the loading screen never completes. Additionally, Youtube will eventually declare that I have no connection and at that point I can no longer open new browser tabs.

I have updated Firefox, used troubleshooting mode, removed extensions, turned off ad blockers (uBlock Origin), and nothing seems to work—these issues always appear again eventually.

I would greatly prefer to not use Chrome, so if there is anything I can do to fix these issues I would be all ears to know what it is.

At random, whenever use a search box on a page, Firefox will lock up. The "loading" icon on the tab will animate as normal, but the entire window won't respond. If I press the show desktop button and then try to reveal Firefox, none of the windows will appear. I'd have to go into Windows Task Manager and be lucky enough to terminate the correct process containing the tab, or else I'd have to start all over again.

If you visit a website frequently and want to wipe delete a website from your historical record, Firefox blocks on the UI thread to do this.

In my experience, depending on how often the site is visited, the single thread on a processor can be pegged for many minutes, consuming gigabytes of memory.

If this is not a bug, then it is a very poor user experience. I was only able to resume after terminating the application in Task Manager.

Version 100.0.2. Desktop. Windows 10.

The photos page in OneDrive is having trouble loading most of the time. The page has the OneDrive header, and the section where the photos should show up is simply blank. Screenshot attached.

This is working fine on Google Chrome, but I would prefer not to use chrome for privacy reasons.

Can anyone help me with this?

Since about 2 weeks ago many AOL attachments are not opening (pdf.s are but others eg Word not). I have read thru' previous messages on this (in 2021) but turning off enhanced tracking has not fixed it. My attachments open in Edge and Chrome. Like others I would like to stay with Firefox but cannot live with this problem. Help please

Before I took my computer to a repair facility and had to reinstall Firefox, my recent activity bar had all the websites I use and wanted quick access to along one lovely line. Now I have a bunch of "suggested" crap Firefox must be getting paid for along my recent activity bar. I've never visited these pages and selecting the menu trying to dismiss them doesn't work. How do I eliminate the sponsored sites and get what I want along the recent activity bar?

I'm using Duckduckgo as my search engine, but when I type in a search string, it Firefox prepends it with https://html.duckduckgo.com/html/... This opens a search page that doesn't follow my dark theme. When I click on a link, another link is added that creates a link back to the same URL, causing a loop. This never happened before I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 & the latest version of Firefox, 100.0.2. How can I change this back?
