With the most recent update, the autofill password background color is now white instead of black, as it had been forever, with my system settings on Dark Mode / system.

I cant see any place to change the autofill background color, other than follow system settings or set to dark mode. Which I have done both, restarted firefox and my PC - still showing white background. again, this just started with a recent firefox update, about a week or so ago, maybe there is a glitch in there?

I use Bookmark Toolbar a lot. It has several menus, with submenus. But when they layer over top of each other, I get lost in which layer I am on and too often my mouse moves off the top layer, which closes it.

I would like to somehow change the colour of the menus, depending on the layer. Currently they seem to all be kinda grey, regardless of theme.

But if the first dropdown menu could be yellow and then the next be blue ... or whatever, it would be most helpful.

I suspect this is something that could be effected in userChrome.css, but I have no idea what to put in there to target the menus.

Any help or guidance you can provide is much appreciated.

Since the latest Firefox update, it hangs immediately at startup. Now it never works, while other browsers always work. This is a fully updated Windows 10 computer. Even when it does work, Firefox's special tabs - About, Close Firefox, Restore session - are often big trouble; and it seems possible one of these may be the problem now. When Firefox is working. it either closes slowly or not at all, bringing always problematic "Firefox is already running - Close Firefox" messages. When one Firefox window is closed, Firefox always keeps the window that is causing trouble in the first place. So, two things. 1) Firefox doesn't work at all. If you fix this problem with an update, the update must start immediately because clicking on "Download Update" too will be hung. 2) You have terribly problematic special tabs which I have named above. It is my opinion that you cannot fix them - you have to rebuild them from scratch - otherwise they would be working properly right now. I have fallen back on Microsoft Edge which always works. Firefox is never working. Think about it.

The full error message is: "The procedure entry point ?WindowsBCryptinitialization@mozilla@@YA_NXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\xul.dll."

After accepting that, I get another message that says: "Couldn't load XPCOM." Then, it just quits, with no Crash Reporter dialog.

I downloaded a fresh installer, but it takes a couple minutes to even launch, and then just sits there for a long time on the initial screen doing nothing before saying the installation failed. I've restarted my computer twice hoping it was a one-off issue, but there's no change.

According to the file information, xul.dll was last changed September 3rd, so it may not be the source of the issue. Perhaps whatever name mangling is responsible for the above entry point changed and now they don't match?

I have automatic updates set to "download but don't install", so it downloaded it a few days ago and I just restarted it this evening and the issue occurred. I could understand that maybe something got corrupted during the update, but I have no idea how the installer could also be failing.

I have had an issue for a few months now where certain websites fail to load. This is most easily reproduced on https://addons.mozilla.org, where I am shown the error "An unexpected error occurred" on most pages, preventing me from installing addons.

This issue does not occur in a Private Window, in Troubleshooting mode or in Chrome or Brave, but persists in fresh installs of Firefox. In troubleshooting this issue, I have removed all program files, registry data, and app data pertaining to Mozilla / Firefox. In fresh installs, I can sometimes install an add-on or two before this error starts occuring. I have not imported any previous data.

I was previously installing from Chocolatey, but in my last clean install, I downloaded from the official website.

I am on Windows 10 and Firefox 157. I use Proton VPN (Paid) and have tried changing servers several times to no avail. Again, this only happens in Firefox in a standard window, Private Mode and Troubleshooting Mode are fine.

Screenshot 1 shows the issue from my most recent reinstall. I was able to install 1 add-on (SponsorBlock) before it started showing up. Removing the add-on doesn't fix the issue. Trying to access addons.mozilla.org via a search engine results in the tab icon loading for a second and no change happening on screen (Screenshot 2).

I experience similar issues on other websites, like trying to log into Bandcamp.com (logging in gives the error "There was a network error. Please try again."), but most sites work.

Hi Mozilla Support Team, I am facing an issue while using WordPress on Mozilla Firefox. The custom fields and options inside the WordPress editor (Gutenberg / Classic Editor) are not loading or responding properly. Issue Details: Custom fields and meta boxes fail to render or freeze when interacted with. Data entered into these fields sometimes does not save upon updating the post. The same WordPress dashboard and fields work completely fine on other browsers like Google Chrome. The subject line of replies to email messages are preceded with Aw: instead of Re:. Aw: appears to be the German language version of Re:, but my language is set to English as best as I can determine. Forwarded email are preceded with Fw: as normal. I do not see anything other than the Subject line Aw: that look like they are in another language. If I use a different browser than Firefox, then the reply subject line is preceded with Re: so I do not think it is a global Windows setting. This problem started several months ago -- I have been using Firefox for many years without this problem so it appears to be caused by a Firefox update. Thanks.

Hi, since the latest update, whenever I'm in a tab (e.g. email or personal website) and I go to upload files, all tabs show the last location of the last upload from any tab whereas previously they showed the location of the relevant tab. E.g. on a tab for my website it would previously open the location of my website files and if I switch to my email tab it would open the location of my email attachments. Now it doesn't seem to remember the loaction by individual tab it just starts in the location of the used loaction across all tabs.

Not sure if that makes sense, it's very annoying as I have to keep searching the location again between tabs.

Can this be changed back please so it remembers locations on a individual tab basis and not globally?

First the laggy, extremely slow issue was just noticed on YouTube. Now I notice it on Rumble and other sites. For now, I have to abandon Firefox and use an alternative browser. I've stayed with you for years. Maybe it's time to part ways. I really like your browser. But, it has become nearly non-functional for me.

Firefox just forced a terrible update on me that makes everything look round and different and I hate it so much. I don't understand why they think people want things to change all the time instead of being allowed to get familiar with something and now have it change on you without even asking if you want it to change!

Every time I ask a question, it immediately disappears; i.e. if I refresh the page, it says the page doesn't exist, and then I go to "My Questions" and I don't see it there either. I'm sure this one will be immediately erased too. What is going on?

I don't know if "Accounts" is the right category, but none of the other categories seem right either...

I try to submit ideas or comment on other ideas, but my ideas and comments never get reviewed. It's been three years and all of my ideas are still awaiting approval. How many years does it usually take for them to review your ideas? I see other people whose ideas were definitely reviewed and approved much faster, as some of them are commenting on recent updates that are less than 3 years old. The top idea right now was very clearly posted within the last week or so because it addresses the new Nova update that just wet out a couple days ago,

How do I get my Ideas to be reviewed? Three years seems like a really long time to expect people to wait. The program has been updated so many times within the last three years... I wated my ideas to be considered within the time-frame when they were relevant. Obviously.

I am using Windows 10 . I have MS Edge as well as FireFox browsers installed. I just recently installed Thunderbird.

Since I used FireFox and turned FireFox VPN on and then off (after about 15 minutes) I cannot connect to some websites like rockauto.com using FireFox or MS Edge. If I turn FireFox VPN back on I can connect to these sites (rockauto.com is only one example) just fine. But if I exit FireFox and go to use MS Edge -- I cannot access the websites at all, they timeout.

What gives?

firfox updated this morrning. windows 10. now I keep losing the keyboard and mouse controls and have to reboot to recover them is there some way of restoring the previous version of fireefox??

Hi, I recently opened my browser and noticed that all the tabs are now rounded instead of rectangular. I'd like to restore them to their original appearance, but I can't find anywhere how to do it.

In the new update, the gradient is mandatory which is okay fine, probably will be themes that revert that, but tabs are floating buttons.

It's not the end of the world, but it's something that is both completely illogical (since they're tabs, they're linked with the window below them — they are TABS, like in a pocket phone book or office file), and visually confusing.

And they're now even more weakly highlighted (there is in fact NO highlighting, only a tiny outline), it's difficult to discern which tab is active. It was already a bit hard on dark themes in recent versions.

I think these are not just knee-jerk reactions, like "make it like it was", although I admit there is a part of it there. But even taking a step back, how does this improve the experience? I can't see which tab is active, the coloring is non-uniform across the wide window so it's even harder, and the tabs do not connect to their window.
