Why do so many links cause "400 Bad Request" errors

When clicking links that show up in many news stories on my MyYahoo page, I get the following:

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

Cookie: B=a64eva95pbep3&b=4&d=MT_CzoVpYEKok6Wxn9eYnrePh7iVyZwLBswKhQ--&s=mi&i=5Nt7PZCgn.NWgaMdwxsf; YLS=v=1&

That issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
