How can I disable the drop-down address bar?

The latest update has once more superimposed features onto users rather giving them as options to select.

After the most recent update, the drop-down menu for the address bar/url bar is now the entire width of the screen, as opposed to the width of the address bar, which means that it is distracting and not only feels clunky/cluttered to use, but there is a lot of unnecessary space.

How can I reduce the size of the drop-down address bar or disable the drop-down?
