Why isn't Firefox working with Google as in log in passwords and YouTube?

I've noticed the past few months, that as I use Firefox as my browser, when I go to sign in a Google account, I type in the email address/screen name and then I type in password, hit enter...it just comes up with a blank password box again. Also since YouTube is tied in with Google, it too, will not allow me to log into my account. Now, in Explorer, it works fine but NOT in Firefox. What is the problem? What happened?
