I have removed my previous firefox installation and now i use firefox portable. When some program ask me to open a webage it opens
Hi all,
as the title says ,when a program asks to open a webpage my old firefox installaion opens (with the plugins it used to have e.t.c.) and not the current one i use which is firefox portable latest version.
Does this mean that i have not uninstall previous version correctly ?
By searching around i think maybe it has to do with the profiles?
I am not an expert so i do not know. Please tell me your suggestions.
Thank you for your time reading this.

Portable Firefox isn't an official product and as a 3rd party version this forum doesn't provide support for it. http://portableapps.com/forums/support/firefox_portable
The way I understand the "Default" browser preference in Windows OS's, it needs a Windows Registry entry from the Firefox installer to be the "hook" for Windows to be able to use it, or even "see" it to offer it as a choice for being made the "Default". Firefox Portable does nothing with the Windows Registry, so it can't be made the "Default" browser.
If a different version of Firefox is opening as the "Default" - you must still have it installed.

Windows opens links in your default browser. I had never through about making portable Firefox your default browser, but when i search, there do seem to be many threads about that:

They helped to solve the issue by changing default programs in windows .
Sorry for asking help here while firefox portable is not supported ,i did not know.
Nevertheless ,in case someone need it the answer is to go to windows Start and type default programs. From there i associated whatever was associated with firefox to firefox portable.exe
Now how can i know that i do not have another installation of firefox since firefox is not in the uninstall programs but yet it was opening when a program called it?
