how to download zip files from internet?

am trying to get my hp pavilion6 synaptics touch pad instructions but when I went to their site & clicked to view file it said it was zipped - windows 7 has something to use to download but i thought it might be better to use a Firefox app or add-on - I am poor old bat unfamiliar with anything newer than my old 8088 - don't laugh... also page runs up & down in front of me as i try to type. must have wrong settings on synaptics thing.

Hello pagoo2,

it is better to have an unzip software because sometime maybe you need it to unzip files outside the browser (whatever browser you want) :-)

you can try :

the latest one (zipgenious) said that you can use it as a firefox extension (xpi) see in "Description" the "supported format" ! I don't use that one, so i can't say if that is correct :-) 7zip is the one that i use.
